I don't have much luck with echinaceas either. I seem to lose them first winter.

Lovely pics phillipa, love the heuchera, nice autumn colour, i think i have a purple one, well i have a purple something?

Aym, apologies, had a manic day today, we have company coming to stay on friday for a couple of weeks, so tidy up time ;) plans for next year....well i have been busy potting tulips, daffs and dug in lots of alliums, love alliums, so excited about spring! I plan to dig some more borders ready for planting. I put my new arch up on sunday, so will buy a couple of pots to grow a rose in one and not sure what to grow the other side, i put a post on here as fancy a peach/apricot colour climbing rose.....i feel a bit selfish wanting plants but compared to my lovely horse, this new hobby is very cheap in comparison ;) what have you been doing in your garden today?

Hi joyce 21, oh my 4 horses....££££! I had owned a horse for 35 years on diy and had a wonderful opportunity to sell my last mare to a wonderful competition home, so that is what i did. It has been quite liberating, giving me over 32 hours a week extra time....hence having the time to garden, which i am passionate about but had not had the time until now....does your daughter get much time to garden.. Do you?

    Aym...daughter is a medical consultant.

Loana....the horses live out but are checked daily where they are......two of them were foals from her two mares.  She gardens on a Saturday morning before going to ride. In the summer, she is in the garden by 6.30am!!!

I don't get enough time to garden now as I'm a 24/7 carer for OH but used to spend nearly every waking hour in the garden

Aym....many people have a good career in music and, if your son is happy, that counts for a lot.

The way the NHS is going, my daughter would love to get out of it.
