  • No Aym, pics from summer but cheery non the less. ?

Glad your back online....(pain isn't it)? We go through this the whole winter long due to where we are situated...but you get used to it.

Not very nice when it happens and can't get contact with hubby while he's away working though....(3 months at a time) ??

  • Those flowers are lovely ?

  • BloodRose, that's yuk....is there anyway you could look.....(must be something that you can grow in pots or bags or hanging baskets, that you can eat)? The Blue flower is, here in France called "Belle de Jour" although I've seen it elsewhere in U.K. And callled something different....Comes in a lot of colours and only lasts a day but it seems with mine, the blue is the more dominant...

  • Aym280 I am looking forward to my Primrose Belarina Doubles to flower again, I do like primrose. I found a couple of shots of mine when I first got them in march. It is what started the plant addiction. I moved and split them before the summer into small pots and gave my mum half, kept them shady and they are back in place now in the trough. I hope they don't mind being moved aroundimage I like the shot of yours, maybe I will try some from seed. Yeah the pansy are cheap but I am stubborn and would like to grow a decent specimen that looks like it came from a GC and not from a compost heapimage

  • They look like little geraniums....?. I'm growing "Large Pansies from seed at the minute", will have to wait till morning to check name though BloodRose as its too dark at mo.

  • Wow only lasts a day, thanks for the name I will check those out. I will have a search and see what veg would work in a reasonable sized pot. Have some thyme and coriander seeds to try but it would be nice to grow something other than herbs. Mine are frilly pansies, Rococco Masterpiece I think. The last ones I grew which I can't remember the variety ended up 4ft tallimage Lovely long stalks on the flowers for vases thoughimage but the sting holding them up did not look pretty.

  • BloodRose, beans, sweetcorn (normal sized or mini ones)...carrots, radishes, and spinach, from seeds can be sown directly in the container....(not entirely sure what you can/can't eat)? you can also grow onions/garlic and there's a cabbage called "Primo" that's suitable for small gardens hence it may be ideal for a medium sized pot.....Just a few suggestions ?. I'm not sure if I still have seeds for the "Belle du Jour" but if I have then you are more than welcome to have some. I will have a look once the rain goes off as my storage box is out in the courtyard. Aym I have those seeds from the "Love lies Bleeding" if you want to pm me your address, I will get them posted next week.?

  • Aym not too worried as it's the nature of his job "not" to hear from him for a while...if net is off for a while, then he emails our French friends who pass on to me that he's alright and vice versa lol. ?. Never seen a Humming bird out here but plenty of Herons and Buzzards and of course Deer and the odd family of wild Boar walking across the back roads...?, we stop the car and watch till they disappear into the woods. Wakened early this morning with the guns going off....(hunting season).....??

  • No problem Aym and you know you can store your seeds in a tupperware dish in the fridge till ready to use....? ?. I feel for you with arthritis as my mother is crippled with it now, especially with her hands ??, can't open anything now on her own and is in tears come shower time...(it's a wee shame) ?. Would think she would have been given a break wouldnt you after surviving breast cancer and then a broken neck after a nasty fall a few years ago....(when they found out how bad her arthritis was, as she couldnt grip handrail to get upstairs) ???. She sleeps downstairs now thank god! ? but sometimes life is too cruel.

Going to have a look round my photos see what I have....?

  • Wow, now there a "Different kind of snake Aym"....????????! I hope your looking after yourself? ? 4am doing washing? ? When you should be sound asleep, no wonder your napping..?

In reference to earlier post: Funny you mentioned the Hunters as last weekend. I was in garden doing weeding and the usual bang went off, I turned round and seen a pigeon falling from "OUR TREE", in our garden!!!!! ??, trust me, Raging was an understatement. I went to fence and shouted into woods....FxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxS etc..then went in and got hubby.....I lifted the pigeon and buried it in garden BUT the hunters are NOT aloud anyway near the surrounding houses but this guy must have been hiding in woods and just went for it...?. If I or hubby had gotten him, then he would have been Craxxxxxg his gun out for weeks lol....???. We then reported it to the local Marie....(but very little gets done) Aym....They think they own the place out here and some at half pxxxed before 5am...?.

    Rant over ha ha ha....???
