Nothing left flowering here Aym except Bellis and a rose.

Lots of colour though from my pots and baskets of Heuchera and good structure from the evergreens.

  • Hi everyone, very very ❄️❄️❄️❄️ This morning. Birdbath and chickens water were frozen solid but now sorted and chickens have had their porridge/apple to heat them up?. Thanks for asking Aym and nice of you to ask ? son is doing ok but a few months of discomfort/pain ahead as yet and won't get pyshio for a few weeks till it heals. Another cuppa tea is in order now as I'm freezing...???

  • Oops, forgot to say, those flowers are lovely, especially the white ones.....???

  • We have been very lucky to have 4 days of almost continual sunshine, although we have had a thin layer of ice on the bird bath and car windscreen - almost unheard of for this time of year here. Just a few pictures taken today. Our first narcissus, some lovely gerbras, and a rather tatty Anemone de Caen.imageimageimage

  • Good, I'm glad you liked it aym - it is the first narcissus of many.  The bulbs closest to the street lamp always come into flower first - that is the first one and the others haven't even got leaves yet and the leaves always show before the flowers. We also have grape hyacinth leaves showing through. The Gerbera was £2.99 from B&Q about 4 months ago and have flowered continually since buying it - it was on the half price rack!

  • It's a fluke aym, I have never grown a gerbera before. I had some in my Mothering Sunday plant decoration from my daughter and fell in love with them (the gerbera's) so when I saw this little plant for sale at such a reasonable price I snapped it up and have nurtured it ever since.

Yes, who would have thought that a street light that comes on at 4.30 ish at this time of year until midnight would have such an effect - that is how climate warming comes about I guess - with all those street lights, let alone house lights, factories etc. all pumping out heat into the atmosphere.

I'm hoping next week to have a tour around the garden center s and cheap shops .it is around this time they are typically giving away summer bulbs ,also plants .the plants don't look anything much as they have all flowered and leaves are dying off . But I got some good plants last year .the nursery  was getting rid to make room for the bouncy castles ! Plus  they are not bothered about putting the bulbs into storage until next year .
