    I must get myself moving and crack on, I want to get the floor mopped before they all get up out of bed.

    Catch you later and enjoy your dayimage

    @aym280,

    Lovely African Violets! Don't understand what you find wrong with that nice red begonia, I like it!

    That's a gorgeous anemone. Does it need staking? I have an ordinary pink one and it always falls over if not securely tied up.

    Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

    Thanks, BL. Yes, those semi-double flowers are lovely. This anemone can grow quite wide (1m) and high (1.40 m) so it needs staking unless in a very sheltered place. I have used 2 of my home-made Metal Plant Supports, they work fine. See http://www.rezeau.org/wp-garden/en/making-your-own-metal-plant-supports/

    I really like your pink and white/yellow begonia AYM. That's such a pretty Saintpaulia too - is that the same as a streptocarpus? It it an easy and reliable plant to have?

    It's getting colder, my dahlias are still going on but only other flowers I have to show at the moment are the following:

    Not sure what this is, is it an aster? Pot wasn't labelled.

    Again pot wasn't labelled on this, but I think it's a chrysanthemum. The flowers are small and abundent. Would anyone know what variety of mum it is?

    Next, I noticed a couple of roses had opened yesterday. Rose de Rescht and Fred Loads:

    Sorry to be boring with marigolds, but it's the first time I've grown them. They are pretty cool - non-stop flowering, and I am find the many shades of yellow and orange, and the hundreds of unfolding petals very fascinating. Mixture of African and French varieties.

    Oh and Clematis Piilu had buds. I didn't think they would open but one just did. It's bigger than I ever thought it would be:

    Thanks for info Aym. Do you need a greenhouse for the African Violet?

    Our garden is very colourful yes - not very classy, muted or two-tone, rather it's quite psychadelic and crazy lol. If I remember I'll try and post a pic of the border before all the dahlias finish, but I need to hurry up, going on hol soon. My mum's very happy, she says the garden has never been more colourful. I didn't plan it that way but am going try and extend the theme next year and have a whole border like a rainbow palette. I saw this at the Brum botanical garden and it was fab. Well I will try lolimage. They had it as a circle - it was spectacular - you were seeing a flower rainbow, whilst also walking around in a circle! All I need is a bit more purple, violet and blue. Well, I can dream if it doesn't happen lol. Yes the lemon yellow African marigold is one lots of people have commented on as it's in the front flower bed in a long row of marigolds, and it's also a very huge flower head. The neighbours and friends have asked me for seeds. My favourites are the plain canary yellow ones (last pic).

    I found an old one of the marigold border. It wasn't in all it's full glory and it's not a very good photo, but I was trying out my new phone at the time....you're right, the lemon yellow one stands out! Can send some seeds if you'd like to grow some next year? That is if marigolds aren't too boring for you in amongst all your exotic beauties!

    If it is forbidden to propagate your Japanese Aneneome what are your supposed to do about all the self seeding that will go on?

    I  bought three white "Honorine Jobert" anenomes they are lovely. I paid for them with my winnings from our choirs 200 club lottery win. It did not affect my finances at all. I like that.
