Yes, aym you could have had the 3rd, i wouldn't be surprised if my friend doesn't pop back and rescue it. i love your knowledge, never even heard of herbaceous clematis, let alone helenium, but they are very striking... Such dedication to hike your bath water out to the garden, dug both my cosmos up and my one and only dahlia i have posted another thread to ask if dahlia's can be kept in pots?
will check settings as wondered why i hadn't heard from you in regards seeds. loana, that Dahlia has no name as was bought in a mixed bag from Lydls last year and that one has been the smallest. The first one from the tubers was enormous and I'm sure I have photos of it somewhere...(need to check harddrive) me thinks.
Ha ha ha, think I've just sorted it lol..... I hadn't been on in months and since the makeover on the site, I think everything had gone back to factor settings, so to speak. Please try now aym, sorry about that.
Loana, a lot of people keep their dahlias in the ground, covered by mulch of some sort but most tend to lift, cut the stem off, hang or turn upside down in a dry place to dry out then wrap in paper or place in pots with some dry/dryish compost and place in a frost free area till spring...
Aym, what clematis do you grow, i have several, princess diana is still blooming, she is a bit sparse at the base, am i supposed to prune her down, only asking as you a wealth of knowledge i could/ought to look it up, but as she still blooming seems a shame to cut her back yet? am soooo excited about my garden next year, lots of works in progress
Goodnight ladies . Afraid to say that this was as much as I could get from the "Supermoon" here in rural France as we have had nothing but clouds since yesterday..... At least i can say I've seen it! (was a whole lot brighter than the camera would take: iPad 2) and has been a lovely finish to our wedding anniversary......

Loana, Diana is a group 3 i.e.:
Prune in late winter or early spring when buds show signs of growth – typically in February.
