I remember years ago when Bengal cats were first in UK and seeing an ad selling kittens in Country Life for £22,000 each. Yes, Twenty two thousand pounds.
I think they're still several hundred pounds. Our friend where OH lodges have one and our neighbour here in Devon has one. They're very pretty but I find them rather unsociable.
Evening all. Home from the hill - back about an hour ago and just had time to have a shower, a cuppa, and then went to collect daughter from work. I had to shorten my day because of it - don't get me started on that.....
Great walk though - forgot to take a pic of the infamous 'steel bridge' you have to cross though. I did it twice due to coming back the way I went. It's a real Indiana Jones effort Boots off to cross the bottom of the beautiful Grey Mare's Tail - the waterfall in Glen Nevis - twice. Good fun, but midgie heaven. Nice bit of scrambling up top. Weather was terrific really. Wasn't looking too promising till I reached Ballachulish - chucking it down and the cloud right down to about 700/800 feet. I'll do the pix tomorrow. Six hours of driving and six and a half hours on the hills has left me weary.
I will now attempt to catch up a bit here till I take daughter to her party...
Not even Tom and his budgie smugglers to watch. What a shame - he was on such good form yesterday.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
For those of you wondering what happened to all that wind - I can tell you... apart from some of it battering Punkdoc's garden (how sad!), the rest was doing its worst on our ferry, crossing the Irish sea. Force 9 gusts meant I spent 3 hours throwing up... strange, because I've never been sea-sick before. OH, of course, was perfectly ok and enjoyed his all-you-can-eat breakfast!
But Connemara is beautiful, even if damp and windy. Hopefully we'll get some good weather in the next 5 days cos there's a hill waiting to be climbed - and a promising garden to look at.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Central heating on , in August. I ask you. !!
My daughter laughs at the fact that she has had three Bengals free but has paid for moggies from the Rescue Centre in the form of donations.
Her first Bengal was very friendly as is one of the two she has now.

Hello all, from rainy Connemara.
For those of you wondering what happened to all that wind - I can tell you... apart from some of it battering Punkdoc's garden (how sad!), the rest was doing its worst on our ferry, crossing the Irish sea. Ooh Liri - you have my sympathy - I'm not the best sailor!
Sympathy to Brian Rix's family. He was a great advocate for those with learning disabilities. He wanted to slip away quietly ... I hope he did.
Going to bed now. Alarm set for 1:20 am so I can cheer Mo home ...
