Great to hear from DD and such a promising start to their new lives.

im the same as Lilyp, can't remember what else  except the fires in France. Will be keeping an eye on the TV news today.

Still in bed, heavy frost outside. Thinking about doing some washing today, but will wait til warmer so I don't freeze my fingers off at the clothes line.

    Sleep well.

I went out and opened the GH and it had been minus 4 overnight. No wonder there was a heavy frost.

Hubby recorded -6.1 on his weather station.

Washing on, but not looking forward to hanging it out.image

Pat I hope your washing dries! I don't miss the winter washing; although at present it's looking too risky for me to hang washing out. Off tomorrow so will have a mass washing session tomorrow; the house is too full of plaster dust to dry anything in doors.

I think I need to incorporate a under cover feature somehow to hang washing in the winter; the future in laws have a carport that's ideal. The closest I have is the greenhouse!

    Good morning all, hi Patimage

Back home from a wonderful holiday and am now feeling the cold.  Pat, just reading your post made me shiver.  Clari, the greenhouse sounds ideal for your bloomersimage.

Bushman I'm sorry to hear your news but glad that you have found somewhere and can start building a happy future.

LilyP (hugs) for the news about your GD and for your poorly pooch.

DD you are getting there, bit by bit, and I hope you had a lovely camp with Charlieimage

I've only managed a skim read back and will try to catch up later.

Good morning all image  G'day Pat if you're looking in image

Down to 13.4C overnight here in Norfolk, but climbing nicely now - we still have quite a stiff breeze but I'll probably be thankful for that later if the temperatures go up as predicted.

I have to pop down to the village for some lasagne sheets ... forgot them yesterday image otherwise I'll pop a load in the washing machine then make  a dish of lasagne and a big pot of Basque chicken for the weekend - that way when friend comes we're all catered for.

We're off out this evening to see this https://northernballet.com/linder-sterling-children-of-the-mantic-stain  so I'll have to record the 'lympics image

Clari - I've known plenty of people who air their laundry in the greenhouse, and I know an elegant home in Devon where the conservatory is only used for drying the washing ........... isn't that right Hosta? image

I'm back, and chuckling about using the conservatory for clothes drying. My washing is in new, finished off in the tumble dryer - except for undies and socks which are now on a clothes horse in the lounge room. Still, I love start in the next with an empty clothes basket.

Morning all/afties Pat. Keep tucked up today. Couldn't do without my drier here image

Joyce - I had to lie down in a darkened room after the tennis...my heart can't cope with it! image

Gymnastics was great and I caught Charlotte's dressage which was superb. The cycling was terrific too - luckily saw the boys get their gold. Fantastic stuff  image

Lovely to see DD and Charlie making progress. Hope they had a good night. image

Glad BL is ok -7km isn't that far away...image

Good to hear LP's friend is improving too. Puts my, relatively trouble free, life in perspective.

Dove - that's not much colder than it was here yesterday at it's warmest. Miserable day again today. image

Hope it improves a bit for me to get out at the weekend - it's looking a little better if I head Cairngorms way.

Have a good day everyone - work beckons...image

  • Good morning All,

The 'camping' night in the new house went very well, hardly camping, we have brand new beds and bedding, but according to Charlie that's what it was. Anyway, he was happy and therefore I was happy and he is looking forward to doing it again soon. image

I have to wait to get the fridge and other essentials in from the B&B and still have to get curtains and lampshades (some might have to wait, very expensive here). We do have shutters though so not too bad and not really overlooked. We'll manage. image

Have a tumbledryer at B&B, will miss that, but I do have a huge garage at new house so that can be my new laundry room. image Least there won't be even half as much laundry. image

B&B full today (again), might get chance to get some cleaning at new house done later though. And I'm going to go around the garden here taking cuttings of all my favourite plants whilst waiting for guests to arrive. Will there be enough room in the car???image

Good day all, will try and read back now whilst waiting for next lot to come down for breakfast. image

    Morning all.

Much love and best wishes to you DD and , of course, to Charlie. All the best to you both.

First time we've put out food for Spike. If it's him, he's grown a lot since last year. A great beast of a thing. I hope it's him as it means he's hibernated and come back to  us.

Far too much to do after being away for 5 days,

    Hey ho.

    Keeps me out of mischief.

    Devon.
