It was still raining here when I got up but now the sun is shining and all's well.
Glad HRH enjoyed her treat Pat. It was worth the effort after all. Fairy I've not watched any of 'One of Us' yet but it is recorded. I'm going to Peebles on Saturday so do you think it's safe?. I also thought the same about Chicky's bees
Hope your migraine goes away soon pp.
Have a good day everyone and hope the time passes quickly for the workers
Gardeners World change might be interesting, but I'll bet we don't get to see it here for another year or so. I'll be glad to hear everyone's comments.
Lesley, the dog treat must have been ok, she's now nodded off beside me on the lounge chair.
Oh dear Wonky. I now have visions of a group of contestants on their knees waiting for the first seed to germinate. I've always wanted an hour long programme, but an hour long programme just the way it is.
Bright and sunny again here and very pongy. Muck spreading with a vengeance since yesterday pm and all the windows open when they started so no point going round closing them. Too late. It'll bring the flies out too.
Glad the doggy biscuits worked Pat.
Enjoyed my day in the garden yesterday but it's back to packing stuff for Possum today and weeding out more stuff we don't need.
I don't think GW needs re-juvenating for younger people but it does need to be made more relevant for all gardeners. Far too many of the more experienced gardeners here think of it as a relaxing half hour with a glass of wine rather than a source of info and inspiration and there is little of relevance to most suburban plots in Monty's garden. It takes a few years of experience to see how, or have the confidence, to adapt what he does for one's own plot.
One of the things I like about Bake Off is that you do get explanations of why things are done and why they work, or not, so I learn.
Have "One of Us" recorded too.
I use WD40 for the usual stuff but also for cleaning my stainless steel cooker hood. It's brilliant. No scratches.

I think the changes sound interesting ... as Obelixx says, young people in new builds, or people like Wonky with 'inner city back yards' have to have a bit of gardening background and real creative ability in order to envisage the possibilities ... as long as we still have the birdsong, long vistas and dew drops on roses, whiskers on retrievers etc as well
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

Morning folks, afternoon Pat, hope everyone is well
Just read an article saying that gardeners world is having a revamp, not just being extended!
Apparently they have the Bake off producer and he's going to make GW " younger"
I'm dreading it!!!!!
Not a fan of Bake off! Or young people for that matter!
What do people think? Am I unnecessarily concerned?

WW - Adam Frost who worked with Geoff Hamilton will be presenting a renovation of his own garden so I don't think we need to worry too much.

That sounds more like it Joyce. I really like Adam Frost

Adam reminds me of Geoff Hamilton in his gardening ideas and practice.
The head gardener of the Chelsea Physic garden will also be taking part so we should have a few interesting weeks of GW.

Adam Frost is good for me. Nice chap as well as a good gardener and designer. Wonderful.
