Lovely pictures, @steephill. I disturbed a deer in the garden last night when I took the badgers food out. Only saw its eyes reflected in my head torch, but nothing else makes such a crashing in the undergrowth.
I am unsure of the exact species, possibly a species of ground beetle. Whatever it is I am sure it is carnivorous and therefore harmless to your plants.
Thank you @wild edges@Alan Clark2. I have given him a feed of honey and water, he was very hungry and I shall but him back where he was earlier. Valerie
Put a fat-ball on the lawn last night in the hope of attracting a fox in front of the trail camera. Didn't really expect it would be snaffled by a badger this early in the season. Don't think the badger was expecting it either. See what you think

I play with plants and soil and sometimes it's successful

Just chilling...
I liked how her tail was gathering a wee bit of the snow this morning
