I'm on washing load number four; what domestic goddesses we are. Due to the lounge being out of action I'm ironing in the office; it's proving quite entertaining watching the neighbours children taking their new kittens for a walk!
I've worked in a Hospital as PA to an ENT consultant and we had some great laughs, it also made me very aware of how easily mistakes are made. In one week I went from working in the steel industry to taking dictation in clinic (no idea of the terminology and had a real problem understanding the accent of the french/egyption surgeon I worked for) to typing up the notes, to sorting out the operating list - and nobody checked anything.
I've also worked as a 'Saturday Girl' in Woolworths a very long time ago. I earned £1.00 a day. Loved working on the sweet counter, but hated the make up counter, used to get lots of kids coming in with their pocket money and it was always just a bit short of the actual cost of things.
Spent today looking after Jonah while secondborn painted the dining room. Lots of cuddles, he is so cute, can't believe he is 3 months old already.
Just read back about 4 pages, been laughing. Just when I was thinking of joining in and it's calmed down.
pp said about Tom Daley "HF it's a very small budgie in those smugglers!" a) how do you know? Is your TV screen big? b) Maybe the water was cold in the pool
I was a student nurse once too. A man came into A&E with his you know what stuck in a vacuum cleaner hose.
I did lots of gardening this afternoon. Was much cooler after the storm. 3 barrow loads of stuff now added to the tip.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Dew Drops ((hugs)) both Wonky and I can vouch for the therapeutic value of gardening at times at great stress. We can also vouch for the efficacy of the support given by Friendly Forkers - they're a smashing bunch
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
I only skimmed through this page, now I've read Dewdrops post properly. I'm sorry about your relative, so stressful for you. I hope the prognosis turns out better than you thought. Hugs.

Dewdrops, best wishes to your relative. Hope things turn out better than you fear.
I've got a surplus of home made raspberry ice cream, Fairy, if you're still peckish...

BL I'm just going by the size of the smugglers.
It's unlikely to be a cockatoo now isn't it?
BL - hope your leccy's back on.
I think the vacuum hose is quite a common one
I've enjoyed the laughs too - a welcome relief from the news from America, yet again
I'm off to watch The Imitation Game with Bimberback Cambersnitch
Night all
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
