    How very sad Lizzieimage

Just been out for a mammoth watering session, to try and get my potted babies through the day.

Now off to the dentist, followed by work.

That's sad Busy.   Farming is a hard life I think and even the fittest can suddenly develop all sorts of problems.   Our neighbour is a big, strapping chap and younger than us but has had to have a new shoulder and knee in the last two years and is threatened with needing the other set replacing and at least one hip.   We're hoping all his problems are just mechanical.

Clari - sorry your poorly.   Are you building the gazebo from scratch or using a kit?   Pics?   Seems a great thing to have for hot days.

I have to go up the attic today before it gets too hot - curtain hunting for Possum's new digs - and then Namur to complete the contract on her new digs and then home to garden.  Going to be a scorcher so maybe just watering pots and dead heading.

Have a good day everyone whatever you're doing.

Building a gazebo Clari, pics please. Is it a bought one or one of those 'shabby chic' ones you make yourself. Sounds fun. I'll bring the Pimms image

    Morning all.

Just been round opening windows. Nice breeze this morning which will dry stuff out even more.

gggrr I hate this 12-8 shift

Cuppa then head to tunnels for a good drenching. I'm so glad we don't have a water meter.

    Morning image

Phew! already - we only seem to do famine and feast in this country.

Had a lovely day celebrating with the in-laws on Sunday but it was hectic. Started preparation jobs on Saturday at 8am, finished them at 10pm. Sunday was a 400 mile round trip and while we were there we worked hard manning the bar,  washing up, making dinner etc. A1 closed coming back so gone midnight by the time we got home.

Phone went at 7.30am yesterday - grr- then a mad scurry round to get the camper van ready to come away for a night. We're at a site near Cambridge with lots of trees (shade) and a lovely shallow pool (refreshing but not cold). Nowt to do but lie in the recliner & drink tea and the occasional glass of something cold.

Pots, veg and new plantings got a drenching Saturday and yesterday morning so they will be ok until we get home tonight. Hope the cat's managing to stay cool too.

Enjoy the day everyone - SYL

Edit: Sorry Hosta & BL - just read back to your posts. Hope the day goes as well as these things can BL and hope the shift passes quickly Hosta.

Washing on line, another load in machine. Heading to SM in a min before it gets too warm - then home to potter, lounge about and read - better do some menu planning too - foodie friends coming for meal on Sunday image

    Morning all!  image

Made my jam yesterday so I can have a lazy day today... though there's Art Club at 10.30 so I must get lunch prepared before I leave.

Lizzie, so sorry about your friend - thinking of you today.

Clari, hard luck getting a cold.  Hope a restful day in the garden puts you on the mend.

Obelixx, best wishes to your pussycat.  And to you!

Did someone mention a garden party??  image

    Morning all.

Another scorcher here. We removed little dead tree No 2 yesterdayI've discussed "big dead tree No 2" with my ancient chum and he reckons we could take it down between the two of us. Interesting times..I might sell tickets for that! image There's usually a fair bit of tee hee!

After three days of dry and two days of extreme heat my grass is still too wet to cut so that'll have to wait. It's shin high! image

As for David K, I echo the sentiments above and think the forum will be a poorer place without his knowledge and input. It's a shame to think back over the others, who weren't so high profile, who have left too.
