DD - of course you'll be sad to leave it. I've been sad to leave every garden I've had, but the new one is always just that - new, and therefore a new set of challenges and plans and ideas....and a few failures! There will be days you cry but there will be lots of happy days too. I promise you xxx

And the fairy folk don't lie...image

    Hosta - re Mr Chopping....oh yes...plenty....image

I used to leave the collection box off the mower at the last house, especially when it was being sold, as I had to keep on top of cutting it and it would have taken twice as long having to dump it.  It was always windy so the grass just disappeared!

Unfortunately, if it was damp, I also had to wear waterproof trousies because it blew it all out onto my ickle legs....image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Well Fidget - the more he irons, the more he gets to watch sport without me finding other jobs for him to do.......   Speaking of which there's a load in the machine ready to be hung out to dry.

Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

  • DD, I can only imagine how you are feeling at the moment. I hope it gets easier for you.

There are flying ants everywhere here. Shudder.

I love my ironed bed sheets. Ironed anything to be honest: when I lived on my own in a house without central heating I used to iron *everything* but my bra! I loved how my socks and knickers looked so tidily put away after they were ironed.

Plus it kept me warm hugging the iron!

Sat in the museum and even the ghosts are quiet today. I guess everyone is enjoying the sunshine which while lovely for them... means if I'm not careful I may have to get the duster out and get some chores around here done and its just too warm for that!

I have at least stocked up the coffee shop so we have plenty of cold drinks and sugary buns to tempt people in with.

David K has finally packed it in and all his input has been removed from the camera thread.

Having returned for about a week after quite some time away, I doubt if he'll bother trying again. It is a very sad loss for this forum.

    Too bad! image

    Hello all.

Time for inside stuff here too...  picked the raspberries & strawberries this morning while it was still overcast, now it's 24 out and 21 in, so I know where I'd rather be... don't do well in heat, especially when the humidity is high.

DD - wise words from Fairy.  Things WILL get better.  xx

Frequently changed, ironed sheets is a luxury I revel in on holiday.  But I tell myself changing the bed that often at home would be bad for the environment...  image

Can I bear to make jam this afternoon??

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Shame David K has been driven off by this so called "upgrade"

Grass is cut , super short. I'm bitten to bits by horseflies. I'm just about to have a cuppa and sit in the sun for an hour or soimage Haven't had much opportunity this year so far, so I'm going to make the most of it.

DD keep strong , and keep in touch. xx

I can understand DK being frustrated about photos but why delete all his posts if they could still help others?    They've all gone from the Camera thread and the Sweet pea threads.

Feeling a bit down now.  Pusscat has a tumour on her spine which is inoperable so they're not doing the breast cancer either as it would compromise her too much.   Not in any discomfort yet anyway and will be given steroids to try and shrink things but now we have to keep an eye on her and take action in future as needed.    She was about 5 when we found her abandoned starving and got her sorted out and 7 or 8 when we found the first breast tumour.    Been in good health ever since apart from the cancer.   Bums, bums, bums.

DD - do you know when you're moving?   Does OH know you're going?  Maybe we can't help with plants for your garden but I dare say some of us can send seeds to help when you're ready.
