Dove - I had the honour of seeing Mr Nastase in Edinburgh many moons ago - early seventies I think. He had already been knocked out of the singles, but was playing doubles. Wonderful to watch. The lovely Margaret Court was also playing. I admired her enormously and still do. Did you see any of the 'parade of champions' thing they do on the middle Saturday? All sorts of sporting folk, but Billie Jean and Margaret were both there. Fabulous players. That was when women's tennis was worth watching! Still think Martina is the best ever. I was reminded of that on Saturday afternoon - exactly 22 years ago I had to go to the hospital as I went into labour with fairylet senior. Ladies final had just started - one of Martina's many victories  image

Marin Cilic I think. I remember crying when Goran won...image  ...he worked so hard and deserved it thoroughly  image

    Happy days!

GWRS - a lovely slip - 'an EATLY dinner'  image

Joyce; those poor scout leaders work so hard! Besides all the ones I've met have attention spans to match their beavers! image

Yes Fairy I saw them all in the royal box. Love Martina! and I used to love watching Agassi, the way he moved around the court so quickly but was always perfectly balanced!  Fantastic!

Oooh - I like those cannas Hosta. The foliage in particular.  I'm considering another one for the new border, if I can find somewhere to overwinter it... image

Dove - are you sure it wasn't Agassi's hair extensions you liked?  image

Just watched the Hampton Court coverage. Didn't see chicky....image

The Hakonechloas were lovely. They grow well here. Great plant.

I was there Fairy - just ducked when the cameras pointed in our direction image

I was at my one and only Wimbledon final (in row ZZZ) the year Andre beat Goran in 5 sets .....it was fantastic.  Me and Mum shouted ourselves hoarse.  We were delighted that Agassi won - but I also cried many years later when Ivanisevic finally won his own title.  Love Wimbledonimage

Hampton Court was lovely lovely.  Will load some pics on here tomorrow.
