Mrs. G; my last beaver camp at the museum blew my hearing aid up! I didn't even know that could happen. The poor little thing popped and plunged me into slightly a slightly less noisy chaotic sugar filled madness.

A wonderful breeze outside; I'm hoping for a less sticky work shirt today image

Panda is a troop leader, sort of like Brown Owl  but differing names.

Its hot hot hot here, blue sky and no clouds.image

We were thinking of doing a trip to either Trentham or Chatsworth, But I suspect we may decide to stay under the brolley on the back instead .  I think it will be too hot to do much else.

Watering to do. see you later folks.image

    Good morning all image

Another beautiful start to the day here in Norfolk - bright blue sky and sunshine, but with a good breeze (that'll  get yesterday's tablecloth, napkins etc nice and dry - is anyone getting the i**n out later - I can chuck my little pile over image)

We had a really lovely day with our visitors yesterday - 31C inn the shade - we started off sitting by the pond with Campari & sodas while the frogs croaked at us, then lunch on the terrace (Fennel Gazpacho, Chicken Basque, Pavlova with a gooseberry and elderflower cream filling, and of course lots of cheese and wine/beer (and Crabbies etc for the driver) ....... OH did all the washing up and clearing away - now I've only got to sort the best cutlery from the everyday and put it away, and normality will be restored image

The only hiccup was when they arrived ... I was out in the garden on the lounger - I heard their car pull up and sat up, only to find the 'hinge' of the lounger had grabbed the edge of my kaftan and I was fully secured!  I couldn't get out of my chair!!!  Neither could I lean back again to open up the hinge as I couldn't move my arm ......... I had to wait for my friend to walk into the garden, roar with laughter at my predicament and eventually tip me backwards and set me free  image

    Morning all.

Beautiful blue skies and wall to wall sunshine here too.

Loved being in the Brownies, but hated Girl Guides. Only lasted a few weeks.

Oh dear Mrs G. They did often look like dead sticks didn't theyimage

Yes Fairy, Panniwhatsit.....Hydrangea. oh heck don't know what killed it then. All my other normal ones are beautiful.

Have a good day everyone. Take care.

Morning all. I loved Brownies too, also a Pixie. Hated Guides, stayed long enough to go to camp then left. Think I'd grown out of it.

Blue sky and sunshine here. Must do a bit more garden tidying (weeding and cutting) before it gets too hot.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

    Morning all

You have conjured a very funny picture in my head Dove - did you manage to look cool and dignified for your friend's appearance or were you floundering around as I would have been? Lunch sounded good - I'm making chicken basque tonight as it happens except I also throw a few peas and prawns in so it's more like paella by the time I've finished. Good recipe for entertaining.image

A little fresher here today but still very dry - everything is going yellow, brown and crispy round the edges.

Speaking of 'edges - OH is finishing ours off while I go to the office. It's always hot in there - no air-con and, at the moment, no windows opened because they're taking asbestos out of the roof image Don't think I shall stay for very long.

Feeling a little weary after the exertions of yesterday and then the smoke detectors went off at 4.30am...

No smoke - stopped as soon as it had woken us - went off again as we were just dropping off again - stopped - repeat as before... Eventually got up to flip the switch in the fuse box and remove the batteries. The one for the landing had a few thrips in it so that was probably the trigger. Will give them a good vacuum when I get home. Why do they ALWAYS go off in the wee small hours thoughimage? I could cope with 3 or 4 pm - not a.m. though.

    Keep cool - SYL

Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
