  • The Pest man had a good look around the decking a few weeks ago, he said there was no sign of them getting under it, nor under the shed. The shed is old and is coming down in the next week or so, which will open up that corner of the garden and mean we can fill any gaps in the fence we can see. There is a small bit of fence at the opposite end the needs repairing, and we are going to top up the gravel/large stones we used at the back/sides of the decking. We've been here 8 years, and only saw one three weeks ago. Frustrating, as I think they've probably found a run to/from from the secondary school a hundred metres or so away where there is naturally quite a good source of food. I used to work on farms and catch rats there, its not the rats that bother me, more the thought they could find their way to the house, if you know what I mean?

  • Thanks RB! I've really enjoyed it, and am already looking forward to seeing it next year. I'm having to control myself, remember what I have will grow and and not buy too many more plants.

This was taken at 11 this morning. I'm quite proud of what I've managed, especially since last year was a write off due to my hip surgeries.

Hi everyone, What a day, I'm shattered.  Have been to Hidcote and Kiftsgate both beautiful at the moment.  Will post some piccies when I've loaded them onto the computer.  Finished the afternoon off with a champagne afternoon tea at a the Cotswold House Hotel.  Firstborn also paid for a National Trust Membership for me so I've been really spoiled this year.

Now I'm lounging on the sofa watching Andy on catch up TV.  could it get any better.

Sorry to hear you're poorly Pat, hope you feel better soon.

I have delphiniums that shape too, Chicky. I've trussed up the sweet peas. The lady I rashly promised them to for a wedding next weekend is coming Thursday night to collect them . The colour scheme is blue, but unless I am going colour blind, navy blue and blue velvet sweet peas are purple.image

I hope she won't be too disappointed.

Didn't the brits do well at Wimbledon?

Clarington, have a look at the ingredients list on your detox tea. Usually they contain a lot of senna pods. Make sure you have a clear gangway to the loo.image

First time I've watched a tennis match from beginning to end for years! Was gripped image Although it was only 3 sets I think Milos played well and is one to watch out for. Well done Andy!

Just been watching a film called "The Help" about black maids in the USA in the 60s. Was gripped by that too.

Been very hot today, not gardening weather, except for watering, but dried 2 loads of washing.
