Sitting in a car park in a "hotspot" near Luçon minding the dogs while OH tries to get us a temporary internet connection so we can receive emails form notaires and such. I've texted him to find a paper too.
No news here as the gîte only has a few channels of French TV and that's either footie or dubbed US soaps as far as I can see. Hopeless. Everyone and everywhere seems subdued today............
Happy gardening all - assuming weather permits. Bit muggy and grey here at the mo but blue bits around.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.
"The price good men (and women) pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men (and women)."
No tennis so h***w**k to catch up on. Washer on, dishwasher on, hubby fed.
I spent all morning digging out bindweed out of the claggy clay corner, mixed in six bags of home made compost, and planted 6 quite large dahlias to fill the gap. I was just going to water them in when the heavens opened. I guess I can water them in later.
Nothing much to report from here other than a rather blustery, showery sort of day. Hate gardening in the wind so I didn't bother beyond harvesting a load of blackcurrants, mangetout and the first 2() raspberries (autumn fruiting - but they always start nice and early and go through till the first frosts).
Runny - you do make me laugh . I'm another who always gets quite embarrassed when workmen come in and pull out big appliances (cue another ooh-err missus! ) and I have to scurry round with a brush and dustpan. Actually I couldn't bear to think of them just shoving them back knowing I had the national collection of dust balls behind there - but I'm sure they do in a lot of houses.
Sounds like Dove had a good day with the pond - you'll get OH using his own initiative and doing jobs on his own soon - not sure if that would be good or bad in this household. I appreciate a helping hand but I do like to be in control...
Exciting times in politics - have a lot of time for Mrs May so I hope she can pull this country into a better place.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
I've had a quiet day. Feeling a bit under the weather, so other than a walk to the bank I've had a day lazing around doing bits of laundry, and a 'querkle':
Which my small weird cat then had to sit on, because she is weirdly attracted to anything rectangular.

I've been out doing some gardening and noticed that 4 of my deciduous viburnums are showing the start of autumn colour on their leaves!!
