HaHa obelixx...a CD. Good for the dancers I suppose but I'd have expected an orchestra. It's all about the money.

I remember being surprised at how noisy the ballet was when I went first. You've big lumps of things jumping about...of course they're going to thump!

We expected the thumping and it wasn't too bad but we've all concluded classical ballet is not for us - too limited a pallet of steps and too much samey leaping and pirouetting.   We think we'd like more modern and contemporary style if it weren't for the atonal, shrieky music that so often goes with it.

The last time I went to the ballet, a russian ballerina was landing with such thuds, we had the giggles. She might as well have been wearing clogs.

Watching two weeks of GW on catchup last night, I was getting comments from hubby. Monty has cut the bottom leaves off of his tomatoes.... I did that yesterday.  Monty's tomatoes are nearly ready.  so are mine, I picked some yellow ones and red ones today. I also picked courgettes and beans, so I'm thinking steak potatoes, ratatouille and beans for dinner.

Its not very warm here, but the smell of BBQ's are wafting on the breeze.

    Hi everyone,

Sorry to hear about Tigger, hope he feels better soon.

DD Glad you are remaining positive, mind you it sounds as if you don't have the time to get down.

Kitty, most picture framers will stock UV glass, I have some of my cross stitch designs in the conservatory and they haven't faded at all, even though they have been in there a few years now.  It costs about £10 more than normal glass when I get them framed.  Well worth it.

A busy morning, had to fetch some more soluable canvas so I can finish the cross stitch panels for Jonah's quilt.  Secondborn says he will be starting school before he gets itimage

When I got back I had a mamoth deadheading session in the garden and did a bit more pondering about the conifer site.  Just thinking about a couple of shrubs to go in there.

Thankfully the scarey movie didn't keep me awake.

It's as black as a bag over Bill's mothers so I expect we'll be getting some rain soon.

    I'm ready for sleep too.

When Hubby was visiting our friends this afternoon, he invited them back for dinner tonight. Generously told them he had pies for tonight. Well, I made the stew a couple of days ago, but he hadn't yet made the pastry. He wandered in about 5pm and advised me that they were coming over for a meal at 6pm. As you can imagine, there was much banging and thumping in the kitchen until the pastry was made, rested, and made into pies and into the oven. I was banned from the kitchen, so pulled the various veggies out to give him the idea that I wanted steamed garden veggies as well as pies.  then he decided they would also need cake, so more thumping and clashing of baking tins and cooling racks. I kept a low profile.  I also had to change out of my wood loading clothes, move the clothes-horse which was full of semi- dry undies and socks to another room, and tidy the living area. WHAT was he thinking?   Talk about a mad scatter. All worked out in the end and the meal was enjoyed as well as the company.

Worn out now though. Night all.
