We had miserable weather yesterday, but made the most of it. Visited the Thorpe Estate open event early on, husband got hangry by 11am so had to leave to feed him (yes, he is like a toddler when he gets hungry!), quick weekly shop and then an afternoon of hiding from the rain watching new programmes on Netflix and Amazon.
Today has been much brighter though, and very warm! I managed a bit of deadheading whilst husband had a shower, then we were going to buy a shed, but realised its not the sort of thing you can just go to the shop and walk out with, so put that on the back burner and had a mooch around Lichfield. Picked up a couple of bits, had a mooch in Wyevale and then came home. Husband cooked up a lovely chicken ceaser salad and put out some fresh pineapple and strawberry sorbet for lunch
After that I did a lot of pla whilst husband did the housework, tidied the garage and cleaned one of his bikes.
I'm currently waiting for dinner- I'm not sure what I've done to deserve such a domesticated husband- he cooks, he cleans, he is a super star!
BL, I love my Roomba- it's 'eaten up' a couple of pairs of headphones though, so you can't leave anything with thin wires in its reach.
I have Pdoc's landline number to be used in case I couldn't find his house when we visited due to poor mobile reception. Rightly or wrongly I have rung and left a message saying we are all thinking about them both. If I get a reply I will post.
Thanks KEF. I knew you were busy with 'stuff' but wondered if you'd heard from doc or seen him. Hope he and Mrs doc are ok
Glad you and Mr chicky had a good day chicky. Lovely pix - especially the leaves You probably had a much nicer place to sit and take it all in than most people did
Joyce - I could hardly bear to watch it. They both fought well but I thought he was going to give that third set away!
Didn't help my pole and curtain hanging either - if it's all squint, it's his fault!
PS - what's a vacuum cleaner?...
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
It's been 30.2C in the shade out there - OH made me sit in the shade while he finished the 'sorting out' of the sunny corner which used to have a big tree growing in it - we've moved some plants and one of the garden seats over there ... lots of ideas
Then I lounged out there with a book ad a campari & soda until supper time (hot dogs made with lovely bread rolls, butcher's sausages and loads of fried onions).
Now the combination of alcohol followed by white bread means I'm about to fall asleep .........
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
That would make you sleepy Dove... can you send me some? Could do with a better night's sleep tonight. Not the Campari though - I no longer partake of it
Hope Hosta's full working day and some sun will help him too
I'm sort of watching that Fake or Fortune thing. They're talking about a chap called Dickie Chopping....
I tittered. I've turned into a ten year old boy.....

I'm sat on the patio floating on the scent of jasmine on a warm summer evening. We have had dragonflies zipping around the garden today. I picked another load of sweet peas and a huge courgette to make courgetti Bolognase. My friends flight has been delayed so instead of Houston to newark to birmingham, she has to come via frankfurt and will be 10 hours late. I suppose that gives me more time to tidy the front bedroom, Aka the dumping ground.
I've not had the telly on today. The news is getting me down.
I think it's time punkdoc had a really noisy party.
No chance of a robot cleaner here... OH is incorrigibly untidy, and I'm not allowed to "re-arrange" his piles of music. (He conducts 3 different choirs so I could wreak havoc...)
Your pink flower looks like CENTAURY, Chicky. Very pretty.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
