I feel sorry for the golfers at the Open.  Relatives came back frozen from it yesterday and they were wearing plenty of warm clothes.

Can you not wangle a day off on Tuesday, Fairy?

I have the following week off anyway Joyce. One of the other girls is off this week so it will be worse than hellish as she's currently doing the work of two people for no extra pay..... image

I hope there's a bit of an improvement...I have lots to be getting on with as well as getting some extra walking.

Thought it was supposed to be a bit better down your way today and for the golf. image

Clari - I can empathise.   Our Labrador is a shedder, though shorter hairs, but I so dislike the Dyson OH chose in January that he gets to do all the vaccing downstairs now.   I expect the darn thing will last years too.   I fancy one of those robot jobs that just trundles quietly around all by itself or at least a proper vac with bags so it's easy to empty.

.Dry here so far and fairly warm so I've been out and cut the grass and watered my treasures at the front.   Lots of washing to do after the break and curtain and furniture measuring.

I never feel sorry for golfers Joyce.   Getting cold and wet is self inflicted and the ones at the Open get paid a great deal to spend their 4 hours or so whacking and chasing a wee white ball down holes.  Mad.

My daughter bought me a Roomba obelixximageGreat. You can shop or garden while the floors are getting cleaned.  She has one and has two cats . . . . the Roomba copes with the cat hairs.

    Afternoon all!

I'm not much of a fan of Dysons either.  Mine lasted for years, but the belt was a swine to change - the pictorial instructions made it look so simple, but my hands are small and the new belt was almost impossible to stretch over the spindle in the suggested fashion.  I always had to hold the machine between my knees and use the wooden jam spoon to stretch the drive belt enough to slide it into place.  It was still working, but was terribly noisy - so in the end my OH gave me a lovely light, quiet (so the cat isn't traumatised), efficient and easy-to-use cylinder cleaner as a birthday present.  (Yes, I did ask for that as my present!)

Warm and humid here too.  The sheets are on the line but I'm not too sure they're getting a lot drier.

Listening to the test match here, and OH is keeping up with the golf on line...

Am feeling a little slow this afternoon.  I made Eton Mess for pud.  image

My robotic vacuum cleaner took a funny turn one day and after that would take to launching itself off the stairs or could be found on its side humping the bin.

It became a party game that no matter where you put it it would find its way to a bin to hump.

I used to find however that it struggled with my neighbours cat hair (used to come over to have a break from the children) so I can't see it cope with Reggie.

    I'm dreaming of wooden floors.

Ob; what a coincidence it was my partner who choose the vacuum. He is meant to be in charge of the vacuuming but being an extra foot taller the dirt is harder to spot from his vantage point so I normally end up doing it. The machine is too heavy for me to use so I have to crawl around on my hands and knees with it.

You know if I take a Stanley knife to the lounge carpet surely even if his lordship complains it'll be too late to do anything about it....

Thanks Joyce.   Which model do you have?  Ours would have to do 3 rooms a hall and a kitchen, all with tiled floors but also rugs.   Love the idea of it working while I play......   We have a cat too but she stays upstairs as she doesn't approve of dogs or too much outside - and she's a shedder too.

OH has the golf on TV while he's looking at cameras for Possum who wants one she can use to take decent photos and do little videos.    I can't cope so I'm off to put in another wash load and do some deadheading.

Obelixx, mine is about 6 years old and I can't remember the model but there have been new ones since.

The charge on mine lasts 1 &1/2hours and does four carpeted, two tiled and one vynolay  (spelling?) floor. Daughter's flooring is all either wood or tiles. It's so quiet that you can watch TV while it's going round the room.image
