    Morning all.

Dare I mention 10 hours sleep???!!!!!

No appointments at the dentist until Wednesday. image

Rained overnight and still really breezy.

I vented my frustrations on some overhanging branches by the lake last night. I'm sure getting the chain saw out was a great idea. image

PlantPauper: since I've been told to go forth and cure myself the stick tea is all I have this month unless I want to resort back to my liquid only diet. And not the good liquids. Its complain and warm water all the way!

Can you imagine a life without crunchy salad? Or biscuits? Or.... *sobs* steak???

Hosta: well done on the 10 hours sleep! Now just keep waving the chain saw around its obviously working.

Four pages of schools phoned. 25 pages to go. I've had to stop for a break I fear I'll turn into a parrot! "Hello my name is Clarington phoning you on behalf off...."

Feeling grumpy and groggy this morning (thanks solpadol), woke up at 3am with toothache image

Then woken again about 5.30 by Romeo and Juliet making a racket as they left the house (thanks teens) image

No appointments for a fortnight (thanks snotty receptionists) image

Thank goodness I have my best girl here with me now college is finished to keep me sane and help with the heap of housework that comes following "fun filled family weekend time"  image

Ooh, I've sat down with a coffee - now there's a novelty. image

Clari, I am beginning to think you are quite mad. image image image

Hosta, well done on the sleep, 10 hours you lucky thing. image

Punkdoc, if you are popping in I do hope you are ok. image

Right coffee break over, I have to go in search of a new supermarket, our local one is shut for 2 months because of a fire a few weeks ago and the only other local option is driving me insane, too small, no choice and expensive and you have to queue for ages and ages. Apparently a sort of near town has just had a brand new Leclerc open and it's supposed to be super - here's hoping. Over half an hours drive but worth a look.

    Catch you all later. image

Hello everyone. I've lost track today.

Birthday lunch was Garlic Prawns (in a casserole of rice, so it's very filling). This was followed by a Yoghurt Honey Cake with chocolate drizzled all over the top and of course some nicely whipped cream - all produced by our daughter,  The gifts were appreciated  and there's not much cake left. Daughter and grandson have returned to Canberra, but Son (and gorgeous cat)  are staying for another day or so. Hubby says thanks for all the birthday wishesimage.

my cold is progressing as expected and I'm getting through heaps of tissues. Doing lots of sitting around chatting.

I'm probably heading to bed soon and  it's only 9.15pm. Just watching the cycling in Andorra, only 34km to go. Might hang in for the end of the race. Contador has withdrawn.

gosh, nobody can say that British Politics is boring or predictable these days.

The gay marriage hating, fox hunting loving Andrea Leadsom has pulled out of the race for PM and Angela Eagle is still out for Corbyn's job.

I tried watching the news last night, but what with football, tennis and grand prix , I quickly gave up. Tonight's should be more interesting.

OH has been marvellous  image  he's got the pond sorted and the pond snails and  at least ten frogs appear very happy.  Big  clumps of rush have been divided and re-potted and put back and surrounding rocks rearranged and some primulas planted around (thank you Hosta), and the hornwort has been substantially reduced.  The frogs just sat in the water and we worked around them image

I had to pop up to the GC for a couple more rocks to hide the pond liner once the rushes had been reduced, and I found they had some climbing french bean plants (Blue Lake) looking for a good home.  As the dratted slugs have eaten most of my borlottis I brought them home with me and have planted them around the teepee - we'll have a mix of Blue Lake and borlotti - they're not runners, but after two setbacks, at least they're beans image  The rain has just arrived in time to water them in nicely.

And not a Brexiteer left standingimage  outsiders looking in at this shambles must be scratching their heads at the absurdity of it all.  However, not sad to see the back of Ma Leadsom - as an energy minister she has been a complete and utter disasterimage.  Lets hope Theresa May does us proud.

Sorry Runny, I was at work yesterday , honest. image

I'd say, I'm not expert, but I'd not expect them to get any longer. Maybe next year as a more mature specimen.??

Lyn took some hydrangea cutting last year for me and they were in flower a month ago. I've not seen, nor spoken to her recently, maybe a PM to her ??

    I heard someone mention cake?

That's all the primary schools in Sheffield called. Now for a change of scenery: I'm phoning secondary schools!

DD what do you mean you're beginning to think me quite mad? I'm surpised its taking you so long! Enjoy your trip out: even if it is to the supermarket. I shall sit here in rainy yorkshire hoping you at least get fresh air, beautiful views, comical men on bicycles...

Oooh the traffic warden has appeared and is now liberally applying his stuff all over the badly parked car that's been sat on the pavement all day (just next to a sign that indicates no parking at any time on the footway). I was just considering calling the police to see if it had been stolen / abandoned (cars used to park there all the time but after a local building company when rather over the top with so many trucks on it you couldn't see the pavement much less safely use it the council slapped a sticker on them all). I can't handle the excitement!
