I'm too angry and sad about David to post. David has been a highly respected member of this forum fro a long time, and has helped so many people, myself included.
BL - I will PM you if that's ok?
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Thank you for all the kind messages about Pusscat. She's had an injection of steroids to try and reduce the tumours and may truck on happily for a few months or a few years. We need to give her a daily dose in her food now and keep and eye on her to make sure she doesn't start suffering.
It is sad that David has felt the need to leave rather than stay on and wait for improvements. He has flounced off both this forum and its previous incarnations on the Beeb many times and with fanfare but comes back after a while. This time he has gone quietly and taken his valuable contributions with him which seems final and is a shame both for him and those who enjoyed and/or valued his posts. He has a great deal of experience and knowledge to share and did so generously.
As has been pointed out this is a free forum so we do not get to set the rules of behaviour. We also have to accept that the site as a whole, of which this forum is just one feature, needs to evolve to attract new users and thus new revenue from the advertisers whose fees do fund it. I think it is perfectly possible to complain or suggest improvements politely.
It isn't perfect. There are things which still need addressing. It's still better than any other gardening forum I've seen and has a strong sense of community which is its greatest asset.

33.4C in the shade here this afternoon and still 22C here now I've had the leaky hose on the Shady Bank and the Wilderness for an hour this evening and the sprinkler on the veg patch and the sunny bed.
We ate supper on the terrace and then stayed out there and played chess.
Its been a lovely day

Agree with you Kef and Fairy, such a shame that David has left. And I understand why.
He was always very kind and helpful. His photo thread was amazing. He also gave me advice on cameras etc. Will miss his advice on sweetpeas too.
Shame they had to be deleted.
Same here BL, much preferred the old format.......am I allowed to say that
First nice hot day of the year here.
Hot tunnel lived up to its name and hit 50.8 C this morning and was still at 35.4C when I gave in at 7.45 .
Forecast 29C tomorrow and I'm working 12-8 so will drench tunnels in AM and hope for the best.

Just a thought, has Davids posts been deleted on the Music in the garden thread too. I really hope not.
Everything of his will now have gone Star.
Have you seen the news in Germany? If not I suggest you go to the BBC news website. People really need to stop hurting people!!
I think the camera thread has closed. There was no space for reply and there was a box saying "start a new thread".
Fairygirl, of course you can PM me. If it's permitted.
Just looked Clari, you're right, all of Davids contributions on there have been deleted.
Not seen the news yet, sorry.
It was there earlier BL, I posted on there.
