RB it's separation anxiety that's wrong with Bran. I was watching a programme about it a while back and had to turn it off because she got so upset when the TV dog was crying! I could watch it now ok...she's deaf as a post!
My neighbour's dogs live in a kennel - they do not live indoors. They are loved and well cared for but they nearly drive me demented if they start barking at night because a rabbit or hedgehog is passing by. 1am is a favourite time. Doesn't last more than a few seconds but just enough to wake me when I'm just dropping off to sleep.
Nice day here - feeling a bit better than yesterday but not 100%. Trying to plant up some annuals to fill the spaces left after cutting back spring stuff but not really in the mood. Hate it when gardening feels like a chore - but if I don't get some of this stuff in now it will be time to put it on the compost heap

Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Lovely warm day. Need to get out again and pick yet more soft fruit... *sigh*... we'll be glad to have a freezer full of raspberries in the winter though.
Went to a gorgeous garden yesterday - York Gate, near Leeds (actually nearest to a village called Eccup - couldn't sound more "Summer Wine" if it tried ). I'll post some photos on the "gardens visited" thread if I can find it. It's only a 1-acre site, but really well designed with lots of diverse areas (trying to avoid the expression "garden rooms" ) and seems much bigger. Good cake too...
I was encouraged by the condition of the hosta pictured here. Made me feel a little less of a failure for growing lacy plants!
Hope Topbird & Pat feel much better soon.
Time to pick the fruit...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
While I think of it, what's the deal with Boris? Is he being given a post that will send him overseas a lot? We both got a shock when we heard the news this evening.
Thanks for your well wishes Liri - I'm feeling a bit better after an afternoon in the garden.
Was supposed to be planting a few things - managed 6 marigolds before I decided I needed to do some more tidying and cutting back. Is it just me or does the garden get terrifying at this time of year? - it seems to get horribly overgrown with things being squashed by other plants and the soil looking all dry and spent. A little overwhelming if I'm honest.
Will try to do some planting tomorrow. Will feel a little calmer when it all looks a little tidier. I like blousey and informal - I don't like a tangled mess. Seems to be a fine line between the two...
Oh has offered to cook dinner - again - he is the best

The dog has my 100% sympathy/vote/backing.
they've got 2 dogs, so you think they'd keep each other company, but no, one in particular just barks at everything which moves within earshot.

Sitting out having a coffee when I noticed movement in my potted alstromeria. . . a field mouse merrily decapitating some flower heads
Afternoon all

That could well be the idea Pat
plus he is a linguist.
I've just picked 160 stems of sweet peas. Just waiting for them to be collected.
I've got raspberries to pick as well, but I daren't disappear back up the garden or I won't hear the knock on the front door.
I've been chopping down and shredding all day. I'm ready for a bath. I think it will be fish and chips for tea tonight.
WOW! a bumper "bunch" of sweet peas The perfume must be glorious
