We had unions, workers rights, the Shops Act, The Factories Act an Equal Rights (for women ) Act and a lot of other stuff ensuring decent working conditions before we went in the EEC. I see no reason why we will have worsening work conditions now.

    Philippa - do you mean he's up ***t creek without a paddle?....image

Quite so fidget. I also had to laugh at the ludicrous knee jerk reaction of some wumman with a one year old son who got her knickers in a twist because he was being subjected to this decision about his future that he had no say in....image

Don't remember anyone giving a toss about my thoughts ( or those of my peers )  on the subject back in the seventies - and I was a lot older than one.

Welcome to the real world love....image

  • Thought I'd seek some solace in the GW forum and have found Brexit is here too image

Thinking I might stay off Twitter, Facebook, Internet for a few weeks until everyone takes a breath and realises the world hasn't ended, everyone's opinion is ok even if not aligned to our own - we are a democracy - and we had a democratic vote, whichever way you voted it was so close one side 'lost', but that's democracy and why we love the UK. Between my group of friends some of us voted in or out in equal measures, and we still get on image

I for one will do a bit of gardening tomorrow image

I don't look at Faceache or any of the other social media sites (or whatever they're called) but you're right wildflowers - nobody died, and we should be grateful that, for all it's faults, we still live in a democracy  image

I agree 8000wildflowers.  My problem comes when they don't seem to be able to get their heads around the fact their opinion is obviously wrong image

Fidget - you really need to have a look at TTIP & CETA and see what they will do to trade and working conditions.

The banana  thing is a red herring perpetrated by red top tabloids.  I buy curvy bananas in bunches as big as 7 or 9 if I want that many.   One thing at least, your local, regional and national jobsworth is not going to be able to blame their zeal and obtructiveness on the EU any more.

You'll still have the same bozos running things.

Time to look at the big picture of what is to come and not lose yourselves in minor trivialities.
