We've been so lucky with the weather while we've been in Norfolk. Every time we visit a garden or explore a new town or village the weather is nice, then when we get back in the car or arrive back at the cottage it pours!

I expect the blackbirds have had all my strawberries in France, I didn't get around to netting them.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Fairygirl, thanks for explaining about the heather and birds thing. Like you, I can see both sides of the discussion. Maybe it was the way the presenter talked about it that out me off.  Our local fire burn control puts animals at risk too, especially koala who wouldn't be able to outrun a bushfire like the kangaroos and birds. It's all part of what is done to reduce the fire risk in summer here, too.image

    Morning everyone,

Bit surreal here. Was booked on a trip yesterday to Les Jardins of Sothys so thought despite everything thought I should go and try to relax. It was fabulous, I will post pictures soon. Best gardens I have seen in France ( except Lizzie's of course).image www.lesjardinssothys.com

Then when I got back had a bit of a reality check re current situation but I am ok. Ever onwards, it can only get better.

I hope everyone on here is ok, Lizzie enjoy your extended holiday, see you soon I hope. image

((Hugs)) DD - you are making progress every day, and hopefully will soon turn the corner so that each day seems a little better, rather than a llttle worse.  We're all rooting for you though - keep strong

Morning all. Have you woken to finer weather yet?  We had minus 5 this morning with a heavy frost and all the bird baths were big lumps of ice. The day has been dry and sunny. So can't complain.

DD - glad you had a bit of respite, even if the aftermath wasn't so good. Love to you and Charlie xx

We've had less bother with slugs and snails this year chicky. Found a massive one on the back doorstep the other night though . Scissors were nearby... image   Hope your Dad is  continuing to improve image
