Back on train again ??? but heading home this time. People-watching was rubbish on the way up - regular commuters comparing car insurance prices???. Hoping for better on the way home - and this time I have a window seat- so conducive to garden spotting???
Been a busy day. Housesitters' rooms are ready. The young man can't manage the last two days so a friend is coming. Picked 2 buckets of broad beans, (and some mangetout peas) now podded and in the freezer. Have tied up the tomatoes and removed side shoots. Done a load of ironing.
Weedkilled the drive this morning as weather seemed OK but 30 mins after I'd finished it poured!
Have put away tables and chairs, got out for the Strawberry Tea. Also put away the cutlery. Have 40 - 50 each of knives, forks spoons counted into separate bags, the church stuff.
Must cook soon, Lemon sole, broad beans, mangetout peas and rice. I hope the strike isn't on tomorrow. Really looking forward to going to Norfolk.
I hope all chesty folk feel better soon.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Only 9 people turned up today so very poor considering when I did a talk for them we must have had over 40. I feel so sorry for the organiser this must happen so often for her and I know she worked hard and she only books where they agree they want to go.
Still they certainly got exclusive access to the building! Poor other half has a huge tub of biscuits to take to work tomorrow less they be wasted. That'll teach me to get the pretty plates and and try to impress with my hostess skills.
Got home to find Reggie has been rather unwell again; I just hope he recovers for the weekend else I'm not sure what he'll do. I can't believe we adopted a hound with as complex a stomach as my own. I was hoping to avoid this stress by not having children! But I'm sure he's so spoilt I'm more stressed than had it been a child that was ill.
Rain is coming down HARD now. Pond is full and the pots are floating off.
