It is far too big isn't it and would be like the Titanic with areas open only to first, second and third class passengers and premiums for a cabin with a window and buffet food all day and "entertainment". Nightmare.

I went to bed in the small hours cos I was busy correcting Minutes with no distractions form OH or Possum and then was woken at 6am by Pusscat demanding cuddles - she pokes a delicate claw in my nose - but eventually dozed off again after a read only to be woken by OH's mobile phone wailing at 8ish because he hasn't replied to a text message.  He'd forgotten to put it on silent and hasn't worked out how to kill the wail.   This is not the first time.  Grump.  I said a brick would fix it.

Ended up staying in bed and dozing and reading till I finished my book and then got up and did a proper English breakfast.

It's raining but OH has already been out and walked the dogs before it set in so they're snoring on the sofas while I rescue Favourites from the BBC Food website before they close it.  When the rain stops I shall go and move more pots from front to back so they don't get baked to a frazz while we're away next week.   Possum is revising for a mere 17 exams between May 31st and June 16th and will not think to water.

If the sun comes out later I shall take photos of the hostas for Hosta.

Seeds are definitely not plants.  I shall check out those 2 websites mentioned above.  Thanks.  I already use Plant World and Chilterns and have been very happy with the service and quality.

Have fun everyone, in your garden or not, with company or not.

Obelixx: glad you think seeds aren't plants. My no buying plants rule is getting rather tested!!

    Current status.

I keep looking at seeds on seedsaholic; buying seeds doesn't break my no plants rule til the garden is done right?

Has anyone has opinion on the company? Should I avoid them?

    See original post

I always buy from either that one or Premier seed Direct and Just seed.

Cheers Lyn! I'll look at those too. Obviously for educational purposes not at all intending to spend ...... Oooh.

    Afternoon all!

I'd second the recommendation of Chilterns Seeds.  image  Good service and a great range.

It's been dry here for a few hours now, so the lawn will finally get its hair cut.  Will have to remove the washing from the line though, and I don't think it's had time to dry yet image

Lovely aquilegia photos.  I must grow more...

A cruise would be my idea of hell too. All those ruddy people and no way to escape them....image

Been laying a bit of path using the old slabs. They weigh a ton. No room in the skip for 'em  image

More digging and shifting of soil required to get the back of the 'stension the right level, and complete the boundary fence border.  Compacted solid clay is no fun to work with after builders have been stomping on it. I've forgotten how much prep it takes before you can do the nice bit, even though it's not that long since I started doing this plot. I must have got a lot older in the last year ....image

On the plus side - the new shower's good image

Best carry on. Can't sit about here all day...

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

    Hi all.

Lovely day outside, assisted by OH.

All the Canna pots are arranged outside now. No doubt they will be moved a few times, before I decide to plant them.

There is a chicken on the side, ready to be roasted. It is a bit of a stand off at the moment, which one of us is going to cook it.

I would also second Chiltern seeds, having used them for many years. Always try a few new varieties each year, then never have any room for the plants when grown.

Enjoy the rest of your day everyone.

PS. Don't forget 1st. Chelsea programme on soon, if that's your bag. I love it. Sadly not going this year, unless it is a surprise b/day present.

The only boat cruising we do is the very occasional charter of a sailing yacht.

Total number of people on board - 2.

Eating arrangements - during the day - on deck - beer. olives, hummus, bread, fruit. Evening - cheap taverna at the end of the boat or curry on board.

Clothes - dirty T-shirt for mucky jobs, clean T-shirt & shorts for evening, oversize shirt for stopping sun burn. No swimmie - it's quiet where we go image No jewellery, no dresses, often no shoes.

Entertainment - singing along with iPod, snorkelling, reading, watching inexperienced sailors mooring up, exploring sleepy villages. "Tattooing" dozing hubby image

    Lovely.

On a cruise ship with 1000 others - hell on earth!

Have put weed killer on drive this pm - first day for ages with no breeze - no rain forecast - big black cloud now sat over house - image - fingers crossed it passes on by.

  • Just catching up on Beechgrove, I've never heard the word 'crevice' said so often and with so much relish!

Hi all. Had a nice weekend, Wentworth garden centre and garden yesterday, nostell priory today. Fab weather today. Trying to get mojo back in the garden but struggling at the mo. Away next weekend with Dove Cottage on the agenda and a plant fair at carsington water so hopefully that and Chelsea on TV will help ( GW not doing it for me at all this year!). Oh, sorry all a bit dismal but hope you are all well and enjoying your gardens. Cannas on the list PuncDoc.
