Hi Wonky - glad the plants have settled in to their new home image

Thoughts are with you, mum and the rest of the family at the moment x

  • So glad I'm on gas now - my last three houses were on oil and I ran out regularly at each house! I'm so rubbish at remembering to order.

Mind you, I had to move from one (rented) as it was awful for heating - oil fired underfloor heating, but with oak laid on top so the heat bounced back - spending £300-400 per month on oil and still having to wear coats indoors. When I had the little one it just wasn't an option to be so cold. Oh, and the spiders. It was spider HQ. Like Miss Havisham's gaff.

Good evening everyone. Thinking about getting up, but can't think why I should when it's cold in the house And warm in bed. Sunny outside, though. Might put a load of washing on and come back.

Hi folks, just letting you know that Ma died peacefully in her sleep a little while ago.

Thank you all for your love and support. xx

Thanks Pansyface. The end was so peaceful, a wonderful way to go. Now the police have to come as there was a Deprivation of Liberty Order due to her Alzheimer's and they have to check there was no foul play. A formality but it has to be done.

I have a bed here for the night and am being looked after.

  • Thoughts and condolences, Dove. Both my Gran and Father have passed away surrounded by family. It's hard, but if there's no prospect of recoverfy, it really is the best way.

She was 92 two days ago Jimmy. Pa died just over a year ago at 96. They'd been married nearly 70 years. Pa proposed after knowing her just six weeks. She always said it was because she knew how to work the new fangled milking machines. He said it was because she was the most beautiful girl he'd ever seen, and he kept saying that until the day he died.

Lovely memories, Dove. I haven't been able to get you out of my mind (not that I wanted to), but it's good to know that she was peaceful to the end. Both my parents died years ago, and then my daughter nearly 7 years ago,  so I really do understand how you're probably feeling. I can only say "roll with the emotions and they eventually fade".  Love to you and Wonky and family.
