I cancelled the paid care because someone then decided he was ill enough to qualify for free care.
They are going to put him on stronger meds, putting a line in? Don't know what that is as mum didn't have it, just had call from the surgery....what chemist would you like to pick it up from.
You can guess what I told them!!!
The reason for the meds is because he's thrashing about, no, I can't get a baby sitter, and no, the Marie Curie nurse can't sit and wait while I go. She has other patients to see to.
If we deliver it could be a couple of days. ..I will tell him to hang on then shall I.. Don't think she likes me anymore
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
LYN, The syringe driver will have an injection in to be infused over a number of hours, usually twelve. The nurse will usually come and change it. You should also have some top up medication if required. Most chemists will deliver medication, especially urgent stuff for palliative care. Just ask the surgery to sort it if you are not fussy about which pharmacy it comes from.
At this stage, mother in law got round the clock care free, as it is classed as end of life care. Ask the doctors how to get that put in place, before you crack.
Glad you got a prompt call back, hope it the delivery asap as promised. Agree with Fidget, you should get deliveries from your pharmacy. Ring the doctor and ask for help. Look after yourself too.xx
