You are all correct in what you say, but Devon and Cornwall are a different breed I think.
The carers are just not available, when I was disparate with mum, I offered to pay any amount of money and was told if I offered 100.00 per hours, I wouldn't get anyone, they just are not here.
Macmillan only deal with cancer patients, but they never came near with mum.
All the care was temporary, never got a Care Package put in place.
This is the best of the two, the Marie Curie nurses will be regular. I don't think I will get a night sit though, but now he's stable and relaxed, I can get some sleep, I can probably handle him better if he's floppy.
We did get the bed two weeks ago and a commode.
I can handle it all just as long as he isn't stressed like he has been this past two days and nights, he's lovely now though, so I am going to try and get some sleep.
I really do appreciate all of you comments and good wishes.
Fishy wrote me the most beautiful poem, just perfect for the situation, I will ask him if I can put it on the forum.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
Morning all - hope you got that sleep Lyn. You cope so well with it all - you're a credit to both your parents. xxx
Greta news for you all too chicky - my friend's dad had a serious inherited heart condition and when it all came to a ahead, they discovered that, because he was so fit (former Marine) his heart created it's own bypass. At least you know what's happened and how it's being treated. I expect you'll have slept better last night too
Just leaving in a few moments to walk so I hope you all have a grand day. Think the car windscreen needs scraped first though ...
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Fairy, my cousin's heart did the same thing - he's a very fit farmer, or was before he retired.
Absolutely horrid here - torrential rain and 5.9C - not a chance of gardening all day from the looks of things. I recommend hibernation until Spring returns
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Morning all. I hope you all got some restful sleep. We've had rain predicted all day so I didn't do the washing which I needed to and now, at 4.45pm, we still haven't had any rain! It drives me crazy. I bet, if I wash the clothes tomorrow it'll pour down. I'll wait and see how it looks in the morning.
G'day Pat I think we have your rain - I'll send it your way
Good morning SGL - I have a few days at home as Bro is visiting today and tomorrow and again on Tuesday - then he has to be in Scotland for ten days ... I've said go - we can't put our lives on hold just waiting ...
A couple of years ago we erected a trellis 'fence' enclosure at right angles to the big front window of the sitting room - I planted a Clematis cirrhosa 'Freckles' on the trellis and a Rosa glauca in front of it and I've hung a couple of bird feeders there. The clematis has grown well and provides lots of cover - the robins, house sparrows and goldfinches use the feeders, and yesterday a pair of blue tits spent ages hopping in and out of the clematis - presumably collecting aphids for their nestlings - absolutely magical - and I can see it all going on from the sofa

Happy to hear Mr. Chicky's is on the mend, what a relief.
Lyn, I do hope you both had a good night, lack of sleep really can drive you crazy.
Looks a bit wet here for 'real' gardening so I am going to spend the day in the greenhouse getting some plants potted on, taking some cuttings ready to sell at my Open Day and planting some Cosmos seeds and other such tasks. The h*******k can wait.
Also going to have my last Hot Cross Bun as a mid morning snack courtesy of Hosta.

Lovely sunny morning, hope it lasts. Fed up with all this rain now, at least we didn't get the storms yesterday just rain.
Chicky, hope OH is ok today and you slept well.
Lyn your dad had a peaceful night and you managed to get some sleep too.
Dove hope Ma is ok, are you visiting today.

A light frost but a bright sunny morning
