Glad too that Marion is OK.   Been having connection problems here too so I know how frustrating it is.  We have a new cable TV service which combines a digital TV decoder with telephone and internet modem.   TV mostly OK but phone and internet intermittent.   Humph.

Been too busy to be much bothered - all that decorating work is now done and we were at it till very late last night putting the kitchen and hall back together.   Curtains went back up this am and the "posh" glasses are also back in their cabinet.   Pleased with the results but it was painful.  Got a wee splinter in my right thumb which got infected and eventually had to get a doc to clean it all out.   Local anaesthetic jabs as painful as the infection!

Have to be good and keep it clean another week and then I can attack the garden.........   Might just have to find some triple layer gloves or something as it's very frustrating.    Sun's out.  Grass is growing.  Weeds are growing.   Treasures need pruning, dividing etc etc.

I trust spring is sprung where you are and the sun is shining too.

A picture of the fish. Not my photo, but from web site.

Beautiful day out there, jumpers off, just in T-shirt.

    Police were useless.

    Like the fish Pdoc image

Even if the police were useless, at least you're following the correct course of action and not taking things into your hands - have you been told to record incidents or report them to the non-emergency number so that they can record them?

Garden currently looks like a heap of s****  image

At least it's dry and forecast is fairly settled for the next few days.

Doc - I hate to say it but - I reckon the police are totally ineffective in these situations. They are here anyway. Only 2 officers to cover a very large area. As Dove says, logging any nonsense and reporting to the 101 number so that they're aware is about as much as you can do.  On the plus side - I like your fish too  image

Obelixx - did you try a poultice on your thumb? My mum was a great believer in a poultice - for almost anything. They are very good for that kind of thing though. I used to bring bran home from work to do them! image

Hi FG - yes but it was a tiny speck from the end of a bigger splinter and quite deep in so I couldn't get it out.   Doc was amazed when he say just how tiny it was and how much mess it made.

PD - do indeed log every event and maybe get a camera installed - high up where neighbour can't get at it and sabotage it.   Does the neighbour on the other side have similar problems?  Get together?

Our garden isn't looking too clever.  The week after Easter I sent the mower to be tweaked to stop OH from over enthusiastic mowing (too short and too frosty) and it hasn't come back yet so the grass is getting a tad long in places.......   Daffs and hellebores looking great as are early tulips and the hyacinths and lots of lovely fresh growth on hostas and other perennials with fabulous spring foliage shoots.  Great blossom on the amelanchier too.

Sadly only 2 other neighbours. 1 is in a house rented from the trouble maker, and the other is a bit further away, with their own drive.

I am trying to keep calm, and follow the sensible advice I am getting from you lot.

1RB, I was wearing trousers, honest. Whenever I garden in shorts, I always get bitten / stung. Anything less, the world is not ready for!

The fish are installed in a wave pattern, in one of the borders next to the pond.

  • Evening all,

Been weeding the rockery all day, very fiddly, I was warned before I even started on the project so can't complain. Some of the flowers are lovely but they really do need to get a move on and spread a bit. image I have planted some alpine seeds too (in the greenhouse at the mo) they need to get a move on too - 12th of June my garden has to be perfect for the big Open Day, you remember the one I did last year and said never again. image

Pdoc, sorry the police were useless, tricky one for them I suppose but doesn't help you much.image

Fairy glad to see you back with us. image

Obelixx, I had a splinter earlier in the year, caused no end of trouble, glad you have got it seen to, I was a bit remiss on that front and was sorry after.

Afternoon all. Glad to hear Marion is okay.

The lawn has been cut (much needed) but I've had to come inside as the neighbour has sparked up a bonfire (still had my washing out; agh!!) and the oder of burnt rather ruins the chances to absorb some vitamin D.

    Did someone mention cake?

Fairy, sorry about state of your garden. Hope no precious plants damaged.

Pdoc, it's like banging your head off a brick wall. Take solace in the garden.
