Ex DIL was Russian - she cooked a good Borscht, (beetroot soup with beef and veg in it - hot not cold), Plov (like a baked lamb pilaff with crispy bits), Pirog, a fantastic meat pie with pastry top and bottom (you had to have two helpings, one with the top crust and one with the bottom, otherwise it was bad luck), salted dried herring, Russian salad (much much nicer than the tinned one we used to have in the UK) and lots of lovely pelmeni http://pelmeni.co.uk/. She used to make lots and keep them in the freezer and then take them out and cook them in stock as needed. Piroshki - like little cornish pasties but deep fried. Delicious
Oh, and of course blini (little buckwheat pancakes) with salmon 'caviar' with Smetana (soured cream)
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Dove; still pretty awful. Mouth ulcers, swollen fingers, and I can't decide whether to be nauseous or feel faint because I haven't eaten... which isn't the best of combinations! Oh well one more week and hopefully things will start to settle down.
Fairy; I'm not a scout and apparently it's poor form to join in with such things; to my relief! I'm just hoping it's warm tomorrow else they'll be getting very cold when we release the fire engine branch hose.

Download a programme called VLC Media Player. That will handle almost all types of media. Otherwise any MP4 programme.
