Evening all. Sleet, rain and all that stuff here today too. A balmy 2.5 degrees at lunchtime ....what's that about...
That's what we get for thinking it's actually spring. We were spoilt having so much decent weather in March which even allowed some gardening to be done!
Tofu? Quorn? Nice roast chicken for us tonight...can I tempt you Dove?
GWRS - it was summat to do with the amount of posts...I've forgotten now....
Snowdrops in the gutter could start a new trend Liri. There's probably enough stuff in mine to grow something
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
I seriously dislike tofu - taste and texture - so, when cooking veggie meals I balance pulses and rice or pasta or bread to get protein or use quinoa or cheese. There's a really good veggie cookery book by the Pru Leith school of cookery which I got years ago in a remainder sale. Brilliant recipes for baked fennel with goat's cheese and roast peppers and mushroom thingies.
I once irretrievably broke two bottom molars on a rogue peanut in a broccoli and bacon salad with peanuts. Cost me €2000 for two crowns! Expensive peanut!
Guinness is very good in a chocolate cake but is otherwise only good for feeding pumpkins IMHO or maybe a beef stew but not if you live in Belgium and can get Trappist beer.
Exhausting day today exploring the Vendée. The doglets think they have to save their car from any rat/cat/proper dog/man in fluorescent jacket working on the roads/cyclist who gets too close......... Very pretty countryside and villages with primroses and cowslips in lots of hedgerows and lots of green fields and streams/rivers/small and large lakes.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Well, supper was very nice Fairy ....... a roast chicken would've been nicer ......... but I'd have wanted to eat the crispy skin and have roasties and bread sauce too, and I don't think they're good for my cholesterol level
Must of tempted fate once to often with this mornings bacon and egg butty got a call from the surgery this afternoon to go and see the diabetes nurse after two failed blood tests.
That's it then might as well go and jump of the pier tonight good by real food.
We've had every sort of weather today, sun was very warm, bit of hail, sometimes very windy, not now though it's lovely.
Fingers crossed and prayers for Yvies grandchild, my daughter decided to present herself bottom first, instantly,so no time for any preparations, bit of gas and air, bit eye watering
Hope Hosta is having a lovely time in Plymouth, such a lovely couple, I love them to bits, both of them.
Well done Verdun, I think they charge the most ridiculous amount for postage. I am pleased they resolved it.
I wonder how many people are put off by B&Q and buy from Crocus thinking they must be better.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
That's quite an eye opener Verd. I've always thought Crocus had hugely inflated prices but were a good company offering a good product. I also assumed they would use British nurseries for their stock. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Good night all, I'm off for an early night ready for an early start tomorrow to get off on my hols - hurrrah, hurrah. Can you tell I am excited.
May or may not be able to pop in whilst away, OH is moaning about incurring roaming charges and warning me to keep the phone switched off or on some safe mode or other. My friends might have free wifi I can use on my travels but it is going to be a hectic week so I might not get time. Always makes me smile here when the French talk about wifi - they pronounce it 'whiffy'.
I will miss you all and hope you all behave whilst I am gone - I wouldn't want to miss any good stuff.
Hosta, see you next Wednesday.

Trying to speed up the loading of the site/threads GWRS - it's happening with other very long threads too. Welcome back
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
