Morning all, Dry and cloudy here. Just had plant delivery, 3 Sedum Thundercloud and 3 Veronica Madame Mercier. Haven't opened them yet but as they are from The Secret Garden I'm sure they will be lovely.
Wonky I've got Snapdragon Twinny Rose, Achillea The Pearl, and Heliotrope potted up in the greenhouse. Didiscus just about to get their second set of leaves and Lobelia Regatta, Osteospermum and Diascia in the propagator. I'm also planning to sow dome Felicia Heterophylla. I have grown Snapdragons, Lobelia and Didiscus before but different varieties. Love growing my own plants, one of the best bits of gardening.
Been helping Secondborn choose curtains and blinds for the new house, mind you no sign of her moving in yet. The electrician, plasterer and gas fitter should be finished next week and then its decorating and cleaning before she can think about getting her furniture out of storage. Her due date is 28th April but they are talking about a possible CSection a week earlier as the baby is still breach. Panic is starting to set in
You're right about the outside temperature - it looks sunny and inviting out there but the breeze has a very keen edge to it. Was down to a tee-shirt yesterday but think I will be keeping some layers on today.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
I'm quite glad today is a baking day rather than a gardening day - I'm nice and warm and the birds are very happy that I'm not out there disturbing them - they're tucking into the feeders very hungrily
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Same feelings Dove. Doing bulk cooking for the freezer so nice and warm. Damp and cold wind when I topped up bird feeder. Previous neighbour had 3 feeders, the new one has none. As we back on to woodland there is a good variety of birds but they are going through the sunflower hearts rapidly.
Definitely feeling chilly in here today. Mind you I only have a pitiful heater which doesn't achieve much when you have to have the door wide open onto an unheated corridor (and barely heated museum).
Still off to the doctors this afternoon so hopefully they can give me something to restore my vigour (watch out world). Here's hoping I don't catch anything while I'm there.
Just watching one child systematically colour in *every* sheet I had left out for visitors today (I don't have an office so I am trying to work from the corner of the room while keeping it open for visitors to come and do a few activities). Why it is that other children refuse to colour on a sheet of paper if someone else has so much as drawn a single line? Its so wasteful and really winds me up that parents seem to have no concept of how annoying it is (especially when they then leave the art work behind: what happened to forcing grandparents to put it on fridge doors?) Oh for a budget, and financial support to be able to afford to waste and then recycle all this paper.
Gosh I do sound such a grump. I think its because there's no plants in this room. I wanted to bring an aloe vera (after all doesn't need watering, doesn't mind /too/ much if bits get snapped off) but I honestly think the room is currently too cold for one. Maybe I'll start a thread and see what plants you might think suitable...

I could do with a bit of baking. About 30C would do me.
Feeling chilly this morning.

Feels chilly here too. I'm making sandwiches for 30 orchestra members for concert that OH is singing in tonight.
Have taken the rotavator to be repaired.

So a footballer bites another player on the neck and is fined £20K. He earns £185K a WEEK, Punishment?
If one of us did that on the street, we'd be in jail.
The beautiful game eh?
