You certainly did have a clear out DD. It's good to start afresh. Postcards will get packaged and sent soon but I'm afraid that I can't grip a pen/pencil to write on them.
Hi Hazel, thank you for the compliment. It was well stocked when we got here (April 2014) but also overrun by bindweed, creeping buttercups and all sorts of yacky things. Some plants had also got too big for their boots though as well.
We have Poppies, Echinops, Lillies, Echinea, Salvia, Verbena Bonasaris, Aquilegia, Lavender, Agapanthus, Euphorbia, Aster, Phlox, Rudbeckia, couple of Dahias, Chrysantanthemums, Holly Hocks, Delphinium, Nepata, Geraniums, one lovely rose that sneaked in and a whole host of spring bulbs, daffs, tulips and Alium etc. Then I fill the gaps with annuals like Cosmos and Marigolds etc.
Hope I spelt all those names right.
The problem is I also have what I call The Long Bed, The Front Bed, The Wild Garden, The Rose Garden, The Rockery, The Driveway, and The Terrace and no matter how hard I try I can't get them all looking good at the same time. Definitely a Forth road bridge scenario.

Just to cheer you all up and for you to look forward to spring rather
than what we have is the coming winter, I'm putting another photo of the poplars down on the river. I thought I'd put it on another thread, but it's not there now, so I must have forgotten to submit it,
Hi Hosta. It was the late afternoon sun just hitting them that caught my eye. I must say I like the vibrancy of them, but the season is short lived and soon they'll be letting their leaves fall.
I must try to get to sleep now. Last night I was still awake at 3 am, trying to remember things to tell our son before he left in the morning, etc. couldn't turn the brain off.
Joyce - what a pain in the ....well...hand Hope it's not too painful.
I expect LP is off to the ballet by now - how lovely. I do love Swan Lake. Was lucky enough to see Margot Fonteyn' performance in Glasgow when I was a child.
Your hard work's all paying off DD. You should be very proud of everything you've achieved in such a short time
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
