David, I got caught speeding in a 30 zone and was offered a speed awareness course.  I had to pay the fine which covered the cost of the course and didn't get any points.  I don't think you have to pay for the course plus the fine.  I would double check.

Oberlix , when we had summer driving holidays in France we always found that traveling between 11-30 & 3-30 as everybody was going to lunch and at lunch was a good time to travel , probably changed now as it was a long time go before the Euro

    Have a good holiday image

  • Thanks, Obs

PS to Pauline. The 'awareness course' avoids the 3 penalty points, but the statuary £100 fine still applies.

For the record, the penalty points remain on your licence for 3 years and the 'offence' remains on your insurance for 5 years......so, God willing, I'll be all cleared-up by the time I'm 55. image

Runny, you click on their avatar and then on the word Ignore that comes up. That takes you to your Settings page where it shows you who you have Ignored. Think you have to Save it.

Fidget, you took me by surprise. I'm sure you're asleep now, but I didn't check back after my last post because it was so late. I've been washing clothes and fiddling in the veggie garden this morning and then watching the American Country Music Awards. Keeps me cheerful when there isn't a Hubby to chat to.image

Mornin' Pat. Just having a cup with dad, I do love a cup of tea in the early hours.
