    GWRS nice dahlias very pretty,

Caroline117 what great going with your plot looking fab, this is the time of year to plant fruit or fruit trees if you are thinking of having any, like your shed - where abouts are you?

Been to plot today put new tarpaulin on shed while I get started on it, the inside - so that was it we broke into my shed cut the black plastic from the door and was in, took hover with us to clear away any spider webs and make nicer looks ok inside pretty dry even with the tarpaulin having holes in it

Did have a bit of help tying down the tarpaulin by another allotmenteer as noticed us changing the roof over so that was kind

Small bit of strimming later on until line ran out will have to buy new line bit

  • Hello everyone, sorry its taken a while to get back Ive been really busy then I couldn't log on..

Errm trying to remember everyones queries,

    The plots are 10mx30m.

Yes the June one hadn't been touched for about four years, the last tenant had left three rows of potatoes in,beleive me these were a nightmare..image

We are getting there though eventually,I did grow some autumn onions in it though, red electric every single one went to seed, but the Shakespeare white ones were excellent..

Been up today cropping and sowing..Putting lots of field beans in for green manure,I was a bit late sowing the mustard so I'm pleased about the mini Indian summer this weekend..

Oh and yes it took a while to read every single post, thoroughly enjoyed it though..image

Do you have any pics of your plot, Geordiexile62.

Seed catalogues have started dropping through the door for next year. Would recommend the chilli plugs from Simpson seeds, all did well this year despite a couple of the plugs being very small.

Hungarian black matured very early. .

Thanks Geordiexile62 feeling bit better today -    think there is still potatoes from before me coming up in the plot they do like to shoot up

You have a long plot, is a shame that plots get left for so long which makes them overgrown

Trying to sort out my shed build now before weather gets too cold/ wet and the clocks change

Been to the plot sorting out my inside of shed, yesterday went and got some more foam insulation free off someone from gumtree just the right time all left over bits, filled a few bags up and the car

some were a bit thick so had to cut in half with saw - stuff does not smell nice and you do get dust from sawing it - took dust musk today to help also the insulation makes us sneeze alot - so will be better when shed walls with be boarded up

So all walls in shed filled with bits of insulation and pallet wood blocks in some parts,

Zoomer hope you made it to the plot

Went to plot on Saturday, dug up the dahlia's and wrapped up gladioli bulbs to store for the winter.

I've a glut of green tomatoes, not sure what to do with those.

Your shed will be nice and warm after being insulated Gg.

Zoomer I am no good at storing dahlias they all go mouldy so leave them in ground now, shed is warmer than on plot a bit, better with the new tarpaulin on all dry inside

My gladioli are flowering now or about to - some of them the ones I planted late

How about a green tomato chutney
