  • Hi GWRS, tree was about 150 yrs old, it sadly died, we have lost a lot of our trees lately, we have a honey fungus problem and I think they are all quite old.

not grown tomatillos, will have to try themimage

  • Been to Wyevale none of them in Hampshire seem to be doing the talk and demos or free bulbs which is a bummer image brought some wall flowers in purple colour  - was wanting tulips bulbs but will go somewhere else and get them cheaper

GWRS looks as though Horncastle Wyevale are doing the talks and demos

Did a lot yesterday at Woolston garden project trying to sort out de brambling area dig over and flattern out we got the weed matting down in one bit just another bit to go this will be for the pallet benches and some planters

Gardengirl, unfortunately have family coming to us tomorrow so can't get there

Was thinking about doing some Tulips in pots as well , that's the way it goes

Got loads of old compost in pots to take to the plot , either put on beds or in compost bins , depending how root bound they are

When Woolston is finished you will have to put some pictures on site

Everybody have a good day image

  • Talks sounded nice but all gc we asked say they are too small only the big large ones with talks that is tough when they put it in GW mag

GWRS will post pics soon only one area needs a raised bed and one side kinda sorted of ground, we will be planting bulb and veg in some of the raised beds next Wednesday with main volunteer man and others

I want some tulips too,  if not 50 bulbs in next gw mag for not much or I will buy them from somewhere else

Went back to Woolston garden project this afternoon de brambled and de weeded, dug over area, levelled and got the weed matting down so hope to get the planters and benches there by Tuesday when finished - like a suprise for main man and others  - as they don't know about the benches or that we are sorting the area ourselves  - so all that tough bit of digging done

Went to plot to cover shed back over as was windy yesterday and remove water, then got a big shock image the plot next to me that no one is on a min got shed door stolen by the looks of it - what - who must be someone on one of the plots  - could not see the door on anyones sheds - what a cheek

  • That  is  a bit cheeky, stealing a shed door!

Went up to my plot yesterday and spent a good few hours trying to get it under control, squashes are growing all over the place so had to cut some back as its a bit late for them now. Also have a boisenberry that has run amok so had to tie it all in. Did lots of watering, but weeding will have to wait till tonight.. found some tomato blight on my outdoor varieties so picked off the fruit and bagged up the rest.

Celeriac is coming on really well, will have a good harvest soon, might pull one up today for dinner.

Grown some Pak Choi in modules so will plant those this week.  image

    have a good week everyone.

  • Ginagibbs me sowed pak choi yesterday dug over an area where peas and lettuce were before, sowed chard, spinach, tatsoi and raddish

Cut down all the blighted potato shoots was going to burn them but bonfire was not going off today later bit spitting stuff still in bonfire bin

Finished painting benches for Woolston garden project, just to line planters
