Gardengirl , thanks for g/c info , we have decided to go to Wyevale tomrrow at Horncastle , have been meaning to go , they took over a local g/c last year , will let you known how I get on image

  • GWRS that is good they nice to have that GC near by seeds are Eden project label from Franchi seeds as all seeds are reduced it is worth looking though see if you find anything you want

Also brought some veg chard and psb for station garden as it is meant to be a little allotment so I get to look after them for a few weeks till the next time

GWRS - Have Wyevale taken over Crowders?

I've not been Horncastle way for a while but Crowders was a quality outlet.

IGrow , yes they have taken over the g/c , Crowders still have a whole sail business . Does this mean you are a Yellow Belly?

Some things seemed pricy but excellent quality , well worth a visit , nice coffee & cake

Been over this morning and bought 8 packets of seeds ,  6 of which not grown before , Aspargus pea , Purple spring onion , Cavolo Nero kale - Eden project , yellow beetroot , purple carrots and violet podded climbing beans , all at 50p a bargain , unfortunately  no chick peas , will have to wait until next year

Signed up for there loyalty cards as well

Also bought some Kale plants to replace those that got eaten

Just thinking about going in gardenimage

  • GWRS do you get GW mag? shame no chick peas - you got a good load of seeds at cheaper than the price

cause they have vouchers for wyevale, also 17th and 18th Sept 11-3pm says talks and demos plus free bag of tulips bulbs for all attendee - so I will try and go then to grap the tulips not sure they will do demos never did last time hope all the centres near us lot do that

GWRS a must have card as points mean vouchers and then money off, and good now the cafe gives points

Been cleaning my wheelbarrow sanded down get cement off bucket all cleaned and watered hope to spray it with paint make it mine for plot look nicer and less rust

As I was not born in Lincolnshire I cannot be a Yellowbelly, although I do live in the south of the county - Spalding. I am what is known as a "blow in" and have been living in the county since 1989.

As for chick peas, buy a packet of dried seed from the supermarket or from Holland & Barrett,  they grow just as well and are a darn site cheaper. They do need to be rehydrated before sowing and do not be put off by the smell.

Hello good day at plot , dug up potatoes , golden wonder , look good

O/H harvested loads of stuff , she is going to sort it this afternoon and I am to plot on my own , always lots to do

However need to buy gate post to replace one at home and fence post for plot , will stain them at allotment

Gardengirl how is shed coming on , will the wheelbarrow she'd be its first extension ?

Hope alls well with everybody image

  • GWRS shed half way some of top bit cut and sorted but half shed up as hard to put tarpaulin cover that high up when not all top up with the wind as well and when it rains it gets a puddle on top so we have to remove it to keep it dry shed will start up after garden holiday hop to get it going quickly and weather good then

I have started collecting pallets for wheelbarrow shed was thinking putting it near shed, but now thinking bottom of plot next to the compost bins -  when they are will be there

So lots of clearing digging to go on that area as there are brambles to get out, that won't be untill the shed is made and an area hump near front of plot cleared

hope this autumn/ winter will be able to get lots of digging done try and clear more of plot
