Spent a couple of mornings on the plot. Got loads done. Lots of digging, finished another bed and started on the base for another GH.

Dafs are beginning to flower. Not sure what the other spring bulbs are, can't remember what I planted so it'll be a pleasant surprise when they flowerimage

Quite a few new plot holders there today.

Lovely sunny day today. Apparently it was a lovely sunny day yesterday as well, but I went hiking in the South Downs where it was foggy the whole day. I dug in most of the grazing rye, so as to be able to plant strawberries later, so now the few muscles that hadn't been sore from yesterday's hike are sore from today's digging. Mind, digging in grazing rye is a piece of cake compared with digging out couch grass.

Had a lovely couple of hours on the plot yesterday, gorgeous sunshine and it looks set fair for the rest of the week. Planted loads of cabbage plants I had hardening off and some broccoli.Nice to see some thing green in the beds at last.

Sowed some more seeds, butternut squash and courgettes. Leeks and tomato seedlings  are coming on nicely image Feels like gardening has begun for 2016 image

I managed to get to the Allotment plot on Friday, Saturday and Sunday

Friday went and done some cutting of brambles to find the bottom of my plot with the plot label - started on that when suddenly mum said hello to new neighbour I did not see him then he was coming straight down the middle of my plot towards us - he could of used the side path

We said hello this is his second plot as 209 is his other plot with the chickens on which he has had for 7 years - you think he would know the rules image  then admitted to taking a pallet to use for the shed door to prop up keep shut - that is more I did not notice - but will bring back - as was not sure who on the plot

Thought he was going to say about the other wood no he didn't, he is a chatty person and quite loud but hope ok, he is going to be growing potatoes on most of the plot for the year

Saturday went later in day lovely and sunny did some more cutting of brambles then had the first successful bonfire, took marshmallows with us to toast yummy then went home late as street lights came on

Sunday more cutting of brambles - so many bramble stabbed hands painful had another successful bonfire and marshmallows and still more to go, it is so nice that I have managed to get out there and do some bits

What do you do with the bonfire ash or use it on?

Love the idea of Marshmallows GG. Your neighbour's a bit cheeky borrowing your stuff!

At least if he's going to grow mostly potatoes, he won't be on the plot too much, hopefully.

Put the ash in your compost bin.
