  • Hello all

Think the carvan from the allotment has gone it was in the side car park near the plot a week or so ago back off from the plot now it is gone and there is a metal roof on the floor where the carvan/ shed was - so maybe they were not allowed  - good idea

Went to Portsmouth today and got lots of free wood took the nails out - picture below will use to clad outside of small storage shed when building it

Looking forward to a gardening weekend  at home if its not too cold, I've got some plants I need to move. Will start some seed sowing and just bought 3 packs of Charlotte potatoes for chitting.

New people on their plots are making good progress, something new going on each time I go up.

My plot is all dug and manured and waiting to go ! will try and get some sheets of plastic to warm up the soil soon, but other than that, its a waiting game.

We've been ever so lucky here, no snow to worry about in my part of Lancashire and you can see the Cumbrian hills from some parts, snow doesn't seem to have been a problem there either.

It's also been fairly dry no flooding this yr???

Hoping to go to plot tomorrow morning.

  • We had snow did not lay

It is a great lot of wood those planks have curved edges which will look good on little shed and they get lots all the time - really want some of the boards like gravel boards that go under fences, time before they had ones like that hope they will get more

Went to the allotment plot yesterday spent 3 hours digging and the weather was cold when we left it was 2*C feet very cold

Today so much warmer we could feel feet much better, spent another 3 hours digging and found so much more than just weeds and glass and rubbish

    - found lots of bits of metal probably from a green house and something else, a moble phone coated in soil, a letter box with knocker, a penny also dug up some potatoes

Nearly there to getting the bird boxes up this week as it is national nest box week starting tomorrow

Hello lovely day , however, come down with Lugy , so may not get to allotment over next few days or if I do want for s lot , typical as weather is going to good image

Gardengirl , cannot believe the amount of rubbish you find image

  • Ginagibbs was cold, hope you get to the plot sometime

GWRS found more bits of rubbish off the plot yesterday, bags, more bits of metal old cans, glass bottle neck  -  get well lots of hot drinks and cough medicine for you

Dig more digging yesterday another 3 hours of clearing out brambles off the plot at the end so we can have a bark chipping path going round the plot, still will be able to get the free blackberries when ready as lots of them

Collected a bit of bark chipping as had new delivery the other day more wood chippings still has conifer in -smelly

Also cleared a bit next to loo door on outside and added a concrete slab like edging hope it will help when the puddle is there as get muddy and slippery

Moved a frog the other day it was under the plastic we lifted ready for digging - put it under another sheet of plastic prob trying to rest
