GWRS only think found is money but only some penny
Ginagibbs forgot to say cake bit for me just at the right time
No plot today as wet, got some free bird boxes for the garden project, first daff out yesterday in garden very pretty
Also have bird boxes to put up up allotment even though some don't want people putting up bird boxes up untill the bird flu thing gone over, by then birds might of nested some where and some plots already have bird houses up
- am going to try get the bird houses up so birds get a change to check them out, and they will be well away from chickens at far end of plot
Garden Girl, I put a bird box up last year and its been nested in, so chuffed! Bit of a shame about the bird flu, press seem to keep it quiet, I only heard about it on Country File.
Got up to my plot to buy eggs on Sunday and check every thing was OK, didn't stay long as it started to rain heavily.
The guy on neighbouring plot is letting it go, will miss him, he has been a wealth of information and kept me going when I first got my plot. He's had his for over 40 yrs and will be 80 this yr. Not a weedi in sight but he has a bad back.
He said I could help myself to anything on his plot. Called at his house this evening with afew bottles of real ale by way of thank you.
Finally managed to get to my plot after being blocked out by inconsiderate fly tipping for the last three weeks- hooray. Carried on digging in the rest of the green manure sown last year. Still feel like I am behind though .
Not convinced that the fly tippers won't be back now that more space has been cleared for them !Fingers crossed they don't !!
Terry: I'm glad you can finally get into your allotment! That must be so frustrating!
I'm having difficulties getting to my plot in when it's wet: I'm at the top of a rather steep hill and the little path is just grass and mud. Each time I go up it feels like I'm risking a twisted ankle. Has anyone had a similar accessibility issue and has any advice? It would be much appreciated. I keep wondering about sourcing some bricks or gravel and trying to level out some steps.
So far I've mainly been sowing seeds to re-stock my parent's garden. Today I sowed some sweet tiny Spanish pepper seeds that I smuggled back into the country from a recent visit to France. They may need to stay under shelter as I have no idea what conditions they'll favour. They were so tasty I couldn't resist trying though!

Weather is getting warmer and lighter
The Pilling outbreak of bird flu isn't far from me. I think they were pheasants which needed to be killed.
It's certainly getting lighter, looking forward to the clocks changing in March.
Purchased 60 iris bulbs and 30 Acidanthera bulbs from Aldi on the way home this evening, 99p each, I couldn't walk past them?
Your sweetpea are looking good, Scroggin.
