  • Hello Zoomer so you have lots of seeds great way of buying them, hope you like the little zoomer pumkins

This morning we were helping out at the garden project - lots of pruning and de weeding and small bit planting came away with a great harvest apples, peas and beetroot

Been to the plot today and done some digging and a bit yesterday, noticed that one of my sweetcorn plants have been eaten and my pea seedlings have been dug and nibbled on,

Lots of digging to go end of plot - does look nice when you have a dug area

Little zoomer looks to be doing well, Gg.

Must take another pic of the large pumpkin on my plot, it's beginning to turn orange ?

Decided to call at the plot on the way home yesterday, took home, toms, radish, peppers chillies, beans, kale, courgettes and squash.

Gardengirl , sounds like you have mice ?

This time of year seems to be harvesting , composting , pruning & burning image

  • GWRS I wanted a bonfire yesterday but forgot the matches, could be mice or rats, have seen hedgehog poop around

Today about 15 min digging but was raining too much in end so gave up, did put some hedgehog food down and end of cornflakes see if they can have them in instead

I had rats in spring. They'd nested in the neighbours shed and were disturbed when he gave up the plot.

They moved onto my plot so I put down poison and was amazed at how much they ate. You can't put it down though if you get hedgehogs.

I'm fairly good about most creatures but rats are my limit, I would leave my outline in the shed door as I disappear up the road in a cloud of dust if I ever so one up close...?

  • Went to plot today and some of the hedgehog biccies had been eaten, had a little bonfire smoked me out a little wind kept making it go always - also done quite a bit more digging, when we went to pack up noticed more biccies gone and some cornflakes dam missed what it is, did not hear anthing eating

will put a bit more hedgehog biccies down, fed the birds

ZoomerI could just imagine you running fast out of your shed pictures it in my head

me don't mind rats fascinating to watch - only thing is should of mended small shed in garden next to compost bin as onl put up mesh on hole and it still got in and all stuff looks terrible and smells - need to fix and clean out the shed with gloves on

Bought some onion sets, garlic and shallots for autumn planting. They seemed to do better this year than spring planted one's and were ready a month earlier.

Started to clear spent crops, the plot took a battering from high winds whilst I was away, sun flowers and some gladioli have snapped.

Is it too early to dig up the gladioli bulbs if I leave the leaves attached and dry them in the GH ?

I brought home a french variety, but when I've tried to translate it, the variety translates as 'straw coloured' , that can't be right...?...

Today  bought a mixed bag from Wilko's, red and white. The shalotts are 'golden gourmet' and garlic is 'germidour',

I  usually buy garlic from Robinson's home of the mammouth onion but their opening times tend to be seasonal and they aren"t always open on Saturdays...?

  • Went to the allotment plot Saturday set up some hedgehog food and timelapse camera while we were digging, after a bit noticed the food had mostly gone so was hoping I would have it on camera

We managed to finish the area for digging stamped it ll down levelled it off ish and got the big roll of weed matting out and covered most of the area,  which will be compost bins and small shed area

Got a few tulip bulbs will buy the trays you plant bulbs in for allotment then will be able to move once finished flowering - will try and use as cut flowers

Well the camera shows who has been eating the biccies - thought it was a cat in one picture but no biccies gone then - more images later it was a rat kept coming back and forth got loads of pictures

Looks as though neighbour has a few newer chickens in his shed/ hutch and all the ones he had were out in the run area - as noticed from the car park area a white chicken on the roof of small hutch though the window of shed strange so went and looked as all the others are brown

so new little neighbours hope they do well with the other chickens
