Sorry you are giving up your plot, it would be a real bonus though for someone taking the plot on with stuff already planted.

A local farmer delivers muck for everyone, a trailer full at a time, it's partially rotted down.

Went to Southport Flower Show today, it stopped raining at about 5 just as we decided to go home...image... didn't put a dampener on the day though...I bought a rain coat...image...ever so impressed with the veg/fruit, show bench.

Also bought some spring bulbs, chutney and cheese.

Thanks, GG. What a bargain, too!

Zoomer, you'll be able to work on your allotment in all weathers now that you've got a rain coat... image

Aster I was looking around the vegs plants and noticed the cola plant as got a stick with a cola bottle tag on the side thought wow so rubbed it that smelt good and cheap and brought it

Zoomer that outing sounded good nice to look around shows even if wet glad you got a rain coat and bulbs - the muck sounds good on your site

    Hey folks *waves*

i don't think I'd realised just how much hard work it is having two allotments and working full time! Both plots keeping me very busy, both there and at home in the kitchen :)

rhubarb wine and gooseberry wine on the go, constant stream of cakes and crumbles, jam by the bucketload, more cake and today I've just finished apple and chilli jelly. Sadly, my outdoor tomatoes got blight so had to go but my greenhouse ones are doing great and taste lovely in a pasta sauce :) I have two freezers and both are chock full with stuff, a lot of blanched veg and fruits.

hoping it'll all start to slow down soon so that I get time for housework haha!

Meh. No one ever lay on their death bed saying 'I wish I'd done more housework'. It'll wait til winter. image

That reminds me of the lovely poem Dust If You Must: http://www.inspirationpeak.com/cgi-bin/poetry.cgi?record=76 (the site says author unknown, but it's by Rose Milligan).

Fruitcake hello waves back,  glad both plots are productive - are the chickens giving you lots of eggs for your cakes - are your plots on two sites?

Welcome raisingirl have you a garden or plot?

Aster nice poem not seen that before

Dug and bagged lots of horse manure fill the car twice and now have 2 tonne bags in crates filled on my plot - lucky for that wheelbarrow  if not would of been harder to do -  took all day but worth the effort for the soil will store for now

Think the wind has flatterened sweetcorn in garden and shed tarpauling keeps blowing off trying to keep it on, hope weather better tomorrow as yesterdays weather wind was bad

We spotted a hedgehog at the allotments running really fast the other night

Found this chicken so really like it so cute for sale near Hilliers gc as had vouchers for there got some ground pegs with them, kinda want it, it is a male so would call I guess was quite when we were looking at him and not allowed on allotment plot - the feathers are such pretty and fluffy head
