A good day here. A few spots of rain this morning but mostly sunny. So, at last, a full day of gardening: morning spent at farm garden planting spare courgettes and a tomato plus weeding. Also picked a 1l size ice cream container of raspberries.
Spent the afternoon in my own garden: cut down sweet rocket and made space to plant some cosmos and cleomes. Hope the slugs don't get them! Cut back some wayward honeysuckle/clematis over an arch and did some grass edging.
hi all bit weeding between beet and parsnips re potted dwarf lavatena/and large lav/ in troughs and hanging basketstook cuttings of my carnations 8 tidyied up the big container of carnations all dead bits and old stems looks good now watered up pinched toms a good morning even if I say myself breckers now
Bit of tidying this morning then possible purchase of something for patio pots as Delphiniums going over. I like to rotate/replace pot display so I have something seasonal in bloom within eye-shot on the patio. This year I have mainly scented geraniums in the display - my favourite being: P.Fragrans which smells amazing - like nutmeg but even better! I bought it at RHS Cardiff in April.
Good weather with lighter winds forecast today so a great day for solid gardening. Just managed to plant 2 Tumbler tomatoes, (at last), before Mum phoned to say niece, partner and, nearly 2, GGS were coming to visit. She can't deal with these sort of situations now so after a quick change and sandwich, I dashed the 8 miles to Mum's. At 3 o'clock there was no sign of them so phoned only to be told they were not coming after all!
Am now back home preparing a 'Blue Peter' spag. bol. in the hope of some evening pottering in the garden.
Just to be clear, a Blue Peter spag bol is one I made earlier not one made from a washing up bottle, cereal box and 2 toilet roll tubes covered with sticky back plastic!
I've actually done some worthwhile stuff outside today. Bit of pruning, tomatoes seen to, hedge all cut, grass all cut, edges done, and I'll go back out and get some bark down as a mulch round the hedge and tidy right round the boundaries that border the pavement.
Oh, and in the absence of doing a hill, set the world to rights with a neighbour....
Hope my children don't expect any dinner when they get home...
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Also sorted the tomatoes Fairy - needed tieing to the horizontal support wire in the GH and sideshooting (if only the fruit grew as fast as the sideshoots!) Weather superb today, mainly sunny but a few passing clouds to keep it cool enough to work in the GH. Planted out some pelargoniums to fill gaps in the border until the dahlias fill out. Don't normally use pels but took a load of cuttings early in the year from ones used as houseplants and had far too many so why not! Lots of weeding and putting in supports for all the things which shot up during the last few rainy weeks. Really hoping the summer is finally coming especially as I've a week off after next week.
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

I do agree best part of gardening is a glass of wine or beer in my case , then admire what you have done
Glass of wine moment at moment

Hoping for more of the same tomorrow.
