Planted out a dozen Dierama I grew from seed which have been living in a coldframe for the best part of 3 years so decided it was time to reclaim the space!  Next out will be Chaenomeles (also from seed) and Philadelphus cuttings which have been mollycoddled for long enough now. image

Have potted up Snapdragon Twinny Rose and Achillea The Pearl seedlings.  Got rid of a few pots of failed seedlings and tidied up the greenhouse.

I thought Katie was supposed to have moved on but we've been having hearty gusts again today.    Despite that I did get about 4 hurs oy there this pm.  Pruned (savagely hacked) a cornus Midwinter Fire; tied in Constance Spry to her new trellis panels, pruned (gently hacked) a wild rose and a toothache tree that were attacking OH by the shed, turfed roses in pots and a choisya out of the greenhouse and into a sheltered spot to get acclimatised, moved tubs and troughs of bulbs out from the shed to the front of house, top dressed and watered 40 or so other pots already there and do on and so forth.

Now to go and move a bit of furniture back to the newly painted bedroom and have a long hot shower before dinner.

So been to three GCs today image got a pulmonaira milky way - dicentra alba - crocosmia lucifer corms and rose food. Wanted another papiver beauty of livermere but at £8 for 3litre pot I thought better of it, I bought a one last year for less than £3.

I went out looking for any white veronicastrum no success image I think its a online shopping for that one.

I had a plastic GH for a while, it blow over all the time even with bricks holding it down. The wind eventually shredded it.

  • Took a look at and did a bit of pruning to my lovely Laurel alias Rhododendron and attacked my buddleja still trying to get it down to size.

Recovering after spending the bank holiday weather permitting sowing seeds in trays and pots for early planting out.

And tackled the horrid thorny thickety bushy thing shrub.

Pulmonarias prefer the shade. They are easy to grow.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
