Did an hour tidying a border this morning - pruned Mock Orange, gave perennial geraniums a hair cut and destroyed some brambles and bindweed. Got a sloping rockery-type area which I let go 'wild' this year so been thinking what to create there. I do quite like the wild flower look and the soil is quite poor so might work out? Also I have a big decision to make about an ovegrown and leggy Lavender... might harvest this year's blooms and then 'replace' with either a petty French Lavender I have in a pot or an Acer. Am not very good at culling plants for aesthetic reasons - feel sorry for them!
I know, me to, bought plants from Morrisons,Aldi, expended the season to, because a lot of mine have gone over. I did do well with the Cosmos I grew from seed though, determined to grwo lots more next year. Did some gardening at 6 today, lovelly morning, have a little cutting garden in the veg plot, took out and shook the opium poppies and nigela seeds, removed ready for carnation, nicotiana plants I have to go in there, liked the "hall of shame" am glad I am not the only guilty party. Other Half says "are you actually going to plant these things you grew"
Oh, I know, we are 10 minutes from the sea, took the dogs on the beach yesterday, OH suddenly suggested a detour! Ah? It was 7 0 clock in the morning, there are some very large rocks, towards Beachy Head, bloke swimming/sunbathing appeared to have forgotten his cossie, didnt bother me! After 40 odd years nursing. You can always tell the brits abroad, badly dressed, badly burnt!

This bloke was neither!!!!
Weeding, weeding and yet more weeding!!!!! :-(
Not going anywhere near the beach today. Cars were queuing up the coast road earlier, so it will be heaving up there.
I think I will wait until November, when I can wear my wellies on the sand.
I can always stay at home and weed!
