I'm just as bad, I've found two slugs in the bird food cupboard recently and have no idea how that is happeningimage

Planted some crocus in the will-be lawn now the flowers have gone over, planted up the eupatorium township at the back of the bog border. Hit snig after snag with that, bits of rock or mortar and chunks of terracotta. Feel like I've dug the garden over a hundred times but every time I put a trowel in just lately I hit a trove of debrisimage

Sat around a lot today looking at the birds and mice, didn't need sleeves at one point, very niceimage

  • They'd been in there since I'd bought them Victoria Sponge - last November I think -but they'd fallen down behind plastic box that I put food in that they don't like very often (but comes in handy for the occasional meal when they've forgotten that they don't like it) image

Been in the greenhouse all day sowing seeds and potting on. Did a bit of thinning out of turnips (I dont like that job - always feel like I'm wasting potential plants)!

Really happy with how everything is looking. Put some larger plants in the cold frames outside the greenhouse. Not brave enough to plant anything out yet though. Will probably be May before I do that. White over frost first thing.

  • Managed to restore a collapsed animal grave and planted perennials on it. I moved a rose, hollyhock, the works and enjoyed seeing the garden coming to life.image

Removed all old strawberries, weeded the bed, handed over to OH to dig in old grow bags. Must have words and explain difference between his idea of digging in and mine. Planted about 40 baby plants - runners potted up last year. Watched in amazement as cat climbed brick wall to garage roof, and laughed at his 'Help I'm stuck' mews. Potted on some mimulus, and some lobelia.

Started moss removal from lawn, and have now realised lawn is 40% moss, 20% weeds, 20% muddy dog holes and maybe 20% grass. Now browsing turf prices.

Had a quick trip to GC this morning for MP compost. Had to take OH with me for heavy lifting, (he has his usesimage), so no chance to even look at plants never mind buy any!image

Afternoon in the conservatory doing more seed sowing and pricking out/ potting up. I've decided not to do any more seeds, unless direct sown, as I've just realised it's only about a month till we go on holidayimage.
