I pruned the buddleias and split a carex, planting one good sized piece. If it lives, it lives. It couldn't stay where it was
Bit more tidying and 'looking' but it was trying hard to snow after I washed the car. I got some bits and pieces done last weekend so not looking too bad
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Add my welcome to the others DavidS .....have been wondering where you were. Was tidying up my geums "flame of passion" last weekend, and it reminded me that it was your photos that inspired me on that one. They are growing away nicely so hoping for flowers this year.
Did more chopping back and tidying - about another weekend's worth and then I am done. Moved three roses - Snowdon, a very prickly brute- to the back of the border where they can't attack so easily. Pleased to see all my phlox are growing away quite strongly, and lots of bright red peony shoots showing through too
Bit of weeding and clearing the leaves... The purple sprouting broccoli is looking good..Its still very cold and wet though and the spring bulbs are just flowering now... The carnation cutting seem to have survived the winter but look a little leggy..Only the Tete et Tete mini daffs are showing..
Sowed more seeds including my tomatoes Sungold - suncherry - G delight always sow tomatoes on my bday it gives them good luck . I end up giving loads of tomatoe plants away to the neighbours / relatives.
Cannas starting to put good growth on now. I got them planted in pots of old compost do they need feeding with FishBB ? or repotting with fresh compost.
Perki, my cannas are the same. Last year's foliage is still slowly going over and the new shoots are poking up with gay abandon.
I'm leaving the old stuff for a while to give frost protection but I'd avoid feeding for a few weeks yet to avoid lush new growth. It's only early March yet.
No gardening for me this weekend. Was planning to on Sat. but OH and I spent the day searching the internet for a holiday cottage to take my Mum to in May. Eventually booked. Hoping to have a good gardening weekend this week. OH and One and Only are going away to play trains so peace and quiet and very little cooking for me. Spent Sunday volunteering in the farm cafe.
BLT I also have some carnation cuttings taken last year that are looking leggy. I've not done them before so have been debating whether I should pinch out or not. Any ideas?

I've eventually finished the hostas in the tunnel. I might count them tomorrow, if that's not a bit sad.
Forecast is to be dryish tomorrow so I'm planning on adding soil to some planters I up-cycled from fence pieces.
Agapanthus splitting in the hot tunnel can wait until it starts raining again.
Potted up dahlias / eucomis I've bought.

Sowed some Sun Flower seeds indoors today with the little one. Can't wait to get back out and at least mow.
Welcome back David
Spring wouldn't be the same without a wander through your beautiful garden

5 clematis planted in new planter boxes. 10 left for which I need to find homes.
Note to self : stop buying clematis.
