It's years since I have travelled off island due to poor health and I do so miss the vast spaces which you have in abundance Fairy and basically everyone who doesn't live on a small island as I do, as much as I love it here especially in the summer. The area looks so tranquil and in harmony with nature - yes it would be nice to retire nearby - however in the bleak mid winter I will be happy to be well above zero for the majority of the time at least.
Incidentally, do you share your fantastic photos with any of the holiday brochures or the local newspaper Fairy - the quality is exceptional and very professional.
And cream teas Verdun, don't forget the food. We had an amazing holiday near Bodmin Moor - many years ago when I was healthier - lots of lambs, narrow lanes and lovely, friendly people.
How kind of you both. I wouldn't think my pix are good enough GD so I've never thought about it.
Sheps - knowing how experienced you are with a camera, that compliment means a lot to me.
Sorry to hear you're not well enough to leave GD - I can understand how frustrating that could be. Beautiful though the glens are, they're not quite so hospitable in the middle of January , so you're probably better off where you are
I love the scouring of the rocks Sheps. It's wonderful looking at the shapes, knowing that they've been created by centuries of water and snow melt. In Glen Etive a couple of months back, I sat for a while in the burn on the way back, on the big slab of rock in the first pic. Could have stayed there for hours
Ancient ruins Verd? Do the neighbours know you call them that?
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Fairy, plenty of scope for gardening at Scone Palace with the strutting peacocks for company
Think there's a few 'strutting peacocks' on the forum too Joyce...well, one anyway.....
Not been to Scone for a very long time. Driven past the palace and through Scone itself a few times though.

Some 'big sea' pix would be nice Verd
A few for GD
Glen Tilt in it's finery last June, with it's tumbling water and scoured rock

Great pictures, Fairy...and I agree with GD, these are beautifully taken.
That rock in the 3rd picture looks amazing, the way the water has shaped it is incredible.
Sheps...
