Might be a bit tough though, Fairy...  image

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Thanks Fairy...yes, they're big birds and the males are very handsome image

I have had the pleasure of visiting a Lek, I love the noise the males make when displaying, it's one of those noises you never forget.

    Liri - it's ok - I have strong teeth...image

We have a programme up here called Landward which is the Scottish equivalent of Countryfile. There was a good item recently about the resident ecologist  at the Mar Lodge Estate. She studies them and films leks. It was really good  image

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

  • Lovely picture Pat - where was this taken?  I must get a few sunset pictures this summer - they are stunning across the sea.

Hello GD2. The photo was taken from my front veranda. We live on the west side of a valley, so that is looking east so I guess the setting sun was reflected on the clouds. The western view is behind us and not visible as we are below the ridge.

morning Fairy. I'm glad you liked it (again). image

Some photos from yesterday. This is a couple of examples of the damage done by wombats. These Eucalyts are hanging onto the bank but I won't be surprised to find them down one day.  Anyone want some help digging holes. I could send a couple over.

I need to reduce them. Will try again.
