We have a programme up here called Landward which is the Scottish equivalent of Countryfile. There was a good item recently about the resident ecologist at the Mar Lodge Estate. She studies them and films leks. It was really good
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Hello GD2. The photo was taken from my front veranda. We live on the west side of a valley, so that is looking east so I guess the setting sun was reflected on the clouds. The western view is behind us and not visible as we are below the ridge.
Some photos from yesterday. This is a couple of examples of the damage done by wombats. These Eucalyts are hanging onto the bank but I won't be surprised to find them down one day. Anyone want some help digging holes. I could send a couple over.

Might be a bit tough though, Fairy...
Thanks Fairy...yes, they're big birds and the males are very handsome
I have had the pleasure of visiting a Lek, I love the noise the males make when displaying, it's one of those noises you never forget.
Sheps...
Liri - it's ok - I have strong teeth...

At the risk of doubling up, here is the late afternoon photo from yesterday that I put onto another thread.
I love that pic Pat. Beautiful sky - very peaceful - and so big!

Lovely picture Pat - where was this taken? I must get a few sunset pictures this summer - they are stunning across the sea.
